Gardenview Lodge Motel

What a little gem! Booked for a night on the way through. Rooms are cosy and clean with retro charm. Best thing is the garden area… looking out over lush green space, not like most motels that have a view of the carpark. The pool was great. For the price I couldn’t fault it. Will be back.

Stayed here while in town visiting family. We booked a budget room and that’s what we received. The staff were friendly and service was great throughout our stay, which always makes a difference. One small suggestion would be to include photos of the budget room bathrooms online. It didn’t affect our decision to book, but I was glad I’d read other guest reviews beforehand so I knew what to expect. Overall, good value for money and a pleasant stay. Would happily stay again for a short visit.

Great motel. Clean, accessible to town, with a lovely basic breakfast. Booked 3x this year and never had a problem. Owners always polite and accommodation is maintained. Quiet and surroundings are pretty. Not far from town for a dinner or a coffee.

I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room had everything that was mentioned at the time of booking and was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. The amenities provided were exactly as described, which made the stay hassle-free. Overall, it was very good value for money, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a comfortable stay at a reasonable price.

Really easy to find as you enter Wangaratta from Melbourne. We stayed in the four-person, two-bedroom unit and maxed out the sleeping space by using both bedrooms and the sofa couch. The sofa couch, on which I slept, was a bit uncomfortable, but as expected for a sofa bed. The accommodation, although not 5-star, was excellent for its style. It was well-maintained, everything worked, and the hostess was absolutely amazing, checking in to ensure everything was good. There is plenty of parking, easy access to the town, and great value for money. Breakfast is included; however, we chose to bring our own food. The kitchen has everything you would expect for a self-catering weekend.

The roomewe stayed in had a view of the garden. It was clean and quiet, a short drive to town. The layout of ground level hotel rooms opposite cabins set in the surrounding garden is a friendlier setting than the usual bland multi-level hotels common since the 1960s(?). Yes, our room was basic but it was clean with a comfortable bed and the original retro bathroom tiles.

Lovely cabins! Lovely receptionist and a great location. Lady even gave me a room upgrade for free! Highly recommend this place, it’s a honest, nice place to stay ☺️
