The Old Town 'N' Country Tavern

Exactly what you'd expect a cute little country pub but still quite sophisticated all while still being quite humble at heart. I've never entered an establishment that makes you feel so welcome the second you get through the doors. Arriving at 2pm for lunch and still being accommodated was very sweet but to have Staff taking the time to mention it was their clock off before leaving and making sure we were right and advising where we could find service if we needed anything was very thoughtful, which I found very helpful and quite endearing to say the least. Remarkably my children even noticed and commented on how nice this gentleman was, going above and beyond what you would expect and this gentleman should be proud as my children are bloody obvious at the best of times but the impact he made on our family made us feel right at home while away on our holiday. Food was absolutely wonderful, perfectly cooked and the kids icecream was so creamy and delicious it made me want my own.

The best pub in Wangaratta! Every meal on the menu is absolutely delicious, and the service is fast and great. We go here all the time when we feel like a special pub meal. The photos I’ve added are a few of the meals I’ve enjoyed here.

We had dinner out on the boat deck. Food came out in reasonable time and was big and tasty! And quite a reasonable price as well I thought. The kids meal came out in less than 10 min and was well received by our younger one.

Tried these guys out for Saturday lunch with the missus. First impressions I was expecting the place to be a little older and and more country pub feel with a name like 'Old town and country', this place had more of a bowling club feel to it. Quite a large dining room area and a big front bar too. Have to wait to be seated by a staff member but didn't have to wait to long. Food was very good! Cauliflower bites and prawn Gyoza for entree, both bloody amazing! Ejyptian Chicken sizzle for mains for myself and this was a real delight, it came out Sizzling a hot sizzle plate with spiced yoghurt and salad on the side, never had anything quite like this! A real culinary experience. The missus had the fish and chips with salad and we have never had batter quite so light, crisp and crunchy, fish was cooked perfectly inside, not soggy at all. Prices were not to bad either. We enjoyed our lunch immensely.

Perfect pub! Great food, cold drinks and a reasonable prices. Had a loaded chicken parma and my misses had the same. Little fella had a kids burger. Portion sizes were plentiful, ended up taking some dinner home. Great country pub feel. Nice playground for the kids to run a muck. Highly recommend

Great kids area, which we were sat next to at our request. Food was reasonably priced (especially the $20 parmas for parma night) and the popcorn cauliflower was delicious! The kids were stoked with their kids meals and we were so happy to see salt & pepper calamari, rather than panko rings! We ordered all of our food to come out at once however it all came out at different times, but the waitress came and proactively informed us of the error and apologised profusely, which was greatly appreciated but we werent overly fussed as the kids were busy anyway. We will be back next time we are in the area for sure.
