BIG W Penrith

Nikola who works in service was the loveliest retail member I have ever dealt with. She went out of her way to help me search for all these products and made sure I got what best suited my needs!

Big W is great for getting a good price on general items. The store is well set out and it’s easy to find each department. It’s a large store so sometimes hard to find a staff member if you need help. But the scanners placed around the store are super convenient to check prices on things. There was both self checkout and a couple of staffed checkouts available so overall it was a good experience.

Big W what have you done to yourself ? They have switched to automated tellers. The gate is electronic so they don’t want you to enter if not buying anything. No more is there a greeter at the front of store. They don’t employ a security person at the front anymore which seems counter productive. Staff don’t wear a uniform so I can’t see who is staff. I can’t find staff even when I identify them. Restocking is constant and done during opening hours I assume to save money? The three stars is for value for money and sufficient variety of products from confectionary to cleaning products, a really good range of toys, clothing for all occasions. Long term staff are lovely. I don’t like the new layout.

I've bought a 4 Slice toaster, though want a New Kettle and Iron. Socks and Brief Hipster Underwear are Great there to.

Jesus What happened to the store? Stuff everywhere, aisles filthy. Staff look angry/annoyed all the time. Went to the party section to order balloons, staff member was disinterested and Wasn’t much help when realised no stock available. I felt like an inconvenience, not sure if just overworked but take an annual leave day. It’s retail , you need to have at least an ounce of people skills.

I am waiting for a pick up service for 53 minutes now and the queue goes so slow. There are two ladies at the counter and both are disappearing for minutes, it’s absolutely ridiculous.

They have added one way electronic gates to the entrance and taken the door person away. Highly inconvenience now as you have to walk through the entire checkout section to exit the store if you are not purchasing. Difficult when you have kids with you 😕
