St Mary Star of the Sea

Pilgrimage of Hope 2025 bring us here. We will never forget this beautiful moment. Such a blessing to be here. This church is so unique, so colourful and pinky are very dominant here which is rare colour in any churches that I saw previously.

Beautiful majestic church. A serene and tranquil house of God. Home of my soul. Jesus awaits there for us all to come.

This is such an iconic Family Shrine Catholic Church ,on the door steps of the Melbourne C.B.D.( just up from the Victoria Market) This church has almost been completely renovated inside and out .Even if a person is not of the Catholic Faith it is a must see on the "to do list" of places to visit. The liturgy is conducted with great reverence and decorum .There are plenty of opportunities to go to "confession "( The Sacrament of Reconciliation). The Opus Dei priests ,brothers and lay associates are always on hand.They also help run the secondary college next door to the church.( Simmons )

This church is truly beautiful, filled with details that make all the difference. I had the opportunity to confess and participate in a mass there. You can sense the holiness of the atmosphere! I can't wait to return 😍

Immersed in the timeless beauty of St. Mary Star of the Sea Cathedral today. The majestic spires, intricate details, and sacred ambiance filled me with a sense of awe and reverence. Truly a soul-stirring experience. Its construction commenced in 1882 under the guidance of architect Reed, Henderson & Smart. However, due to financial constraints, the cathedral was completed in stages. The final phase of construction, which included the installation of the spires and the completion of the facade, was undertaken in the early 20th century. Highly recommend visiting for everyone 💯✝️ Mass times: Monday - Friday: 7:00 am & 12:30 pm Saturday (& Public Holiday): 10:00 am Sunday: 10:00 am, 5:00 pm

GREAT: the priest (pictured, though I cannot remember his name) was refreshingly kind to me and helpful. Because of his patience, I was able to capture much better video and audio for the bride and groom 🙂 Thank you very very much! The interior is beautifully decorated. It's very easy to shoot a great looking wedding video here. Not so great: I can't think of any problems with this church. Maybe parking might not always be easy.
