Hopscotch Restaurant & Bar

Nice spot with a relaxed environment that makes it easy to settle in. Food leans on the pricier side, but quality is good. Tried the hummingbird cake - fresh, moist, and delicious. Overall, a solid choice in Tamworth for a sit-down bite.

We came here for brunch on a Sunday. It was packed to the rafters. I have to say that the staff were stretched and it showed in the food and beverages service. Prices reflect the popularity of the place. Those in the know would go to Cosy Toasty instead, but its Sunday...what is a person to do!

I've been going to hopscotch since it opened and it has become a central part of my weekly routine. I've laughed, cried, made new friends and memories, and I've never once come away not feeling better than I arrived. The coffee is the most consistent in town, rich and well brewed. But the best thing about hoppies is the staff - it wouldn't be the same without a "how are ya babe" from Sean, the latest news from Sam or Phoebe or a warm smile from Paula. I'd like to make a special mention of Liam and Jada whose customer service never falters - they are always friendly, happy and kind. You are both exceptional young people! No matter how bad things get it's always good to know I have somewhere to go where I feel welcomed and cared for - thank you!

Whenever I’m in Tamworth for work (often these days), I will always eat at least once at Hopscotch. Having been introduced to it by local colleagues a few years ago, it has become a firm favourite not just for me but a number of my Sydney and Newcastle workmates. Usually being there for breakfast, nothing I’ve ever ordered has disappointed. They do a great coffee as well, and in the warmer months it’s so nice to just sit there and take in the ambiance of the park surrounds (and admire the local puppers who visit with their owner regulars!). Most impressive of all is the service given by one particular young male member of staff which is nothing short of excellent. I’m not sure of his age but the first time I visited he seemed quite young - he was all over it regardless and has just gotten better with time (I’ve seen in other reviews that many agree with me!). The manager is warm and friendly as well, as in fact is the whole team. Hopscotch is a great way to start your New England day - highly recommend.

The staff were super friendly and allowed use of their tables to work for a few hours. Coffee was great, cold drinks were exactly what was required and the shade under the trees on a hot day couldn't be beaten. Will be back again, hopefully before I eat breakfast next time 👍

My wife and I are in Tamworth for our first country music festival here. We're staying at the Edward Parry Motel, and the owners ( Michael and Lisa) recommended the Hopscotch Restaurant and Bar to us. I have to say we're very happy that they did. Situated in a park by the river, adjacent to the centre of town, and in the middle of a recreation park including a small water feature, this is a happy, relaxing place to be. The staff are very friendly, the menu is very comprehensive, and the chefs are creating wonders. We've been here three days so far, this is the second time we've had brunch at Hopscotch, we've had four different dishes and they've all been conversation killers, except for the occasional "Oh wow" and " I'm so full but I can't stop eating". We're seriously impressed. We have another three days here and Hopscotch will feature. So far we've had; Poke Bowl with chicken, Scrambled eggs on toast with bacon, Avocado toast ( which includes poached egg & other yummy stuff) Eggs Benny with bacon on croissant.( with hollandaise to die for). Let's not forget the mango frappes we've been having as well..... just the thing on a hot day. Everything has been beautifully presented (the restaurant and the meals), and the flavours superb. I visited here for breakfast with my children for the first time today. The food was very good and the restaurant was laid out so that we didn't feel claustrophobic. Chairs were comfy too. My only negative is that the temperature outside was 33 degrees yet they had opened up the windows instead of turning on the air conditioning. As a result it was uncomfortably hot inside and we all sweated through our breakfast.
