The Lane Retreat

Lovely retreat from the bustling city. Place was clean and amenities were good with a good bottle of red to sip on. Managed to spot a few kangaroos doing their morning routine, got to be an early waker though.

I cannot - simply cannot - praise this place highly enough. Modern, homey, spanking clean, perfect location for vingeeeks. Greeted with a complimentary bottle of wine, and stocked breakfast for the two days. Ample, sufficient, perhaps more bottled water would’ve been nice. Fluffy towels, bed amazingly soft, showers oh the SPACIOUS SHOWERS 🚿 💖💘🩷🧡🩵💙💜 plenty strong hot water too. Lovely balcony seating. Yes, you will spot kangaroos in the area. Very very prompt and cherry email replies. Was too cold for us to pool tho. Free parking big plus. Not much diff in rooms with diff view types, we felt. Appreciated the self check in and out. TEN STARS!!!!!!

This is an outstanding escape, with rooms in groups of three in small, modern buildings that are separate from the other units. The rooms are modern and well equipped. There are no sounds other than birds in the area, and each room has a balcony with chairs and a small table to enjoy the atmosphere. They provide a fantastic breakfast, with everything already in the room so there’s no need to go anywhere. They also provide a welcome bottle of wine to get you started. It is a great place to relax and unwind. The drive to the nearest wineries is about 5 to 10 minutes, so even though you need a car to get around, distances are very short.

Excellent place — it truly is a retreat. I went with my mom, my sister, and our Cavoodle, and we were so happy. It’s a place that beautifully captures the magic of Hunter Valley. The experience is fascinating from the very first phone call. A thousand thanks for all the vegan options and for the space and recognition you gave to our little dog — that was such a lovely touch. 🔝

Stayed here with my dad a few weeks ago and we absolutely loved it! Firstly, at the time of the booking Rachael was so lovely and accommodating with our requests. Made me look forward to the trip even more. And once we got there it was beautiful! The location is ideal - so peaceful and quiet. And the kangaroos and horses in the area made the trip so memorable! The room itself was lovely and the perfect size. The beds were so comfy! We loved the breakfast options, however we weren’t really a fan of the coffee. But a short walk to the lane pantry, taking in all the views, and we could get good coffee there so it didn’t bother us too much! I would recommend this to a friend and will be back myself!

We stayed at the Lane Retreat for two nights. It was peaceful and a great place to unwind and experience what the local area had to offer. Rooms were very well appointed and clean, breakfast supplies were a nice touch. The highlight was sitting on the deck in the morning eating breakfast with a coffee overlooking the mountains and vineyards. We were initially a little worried we wouldnt have a nice view as we could only get a standard view unit, however, I wouldn't let this deter you as it is still very much worthwhile and you still get amazing views.

Perfect place to stay in the hunter. Individual Cabins all face west so u can watch the setting sun over the hills of Pokolbin. Awake to that view but without the glaring sun. We chose to reject daily service of our room and received a nice bottle of red but when we were running low on teabags etc I just rang and they were there. Actually replaced some towels and put our washing up away whilst Restocking our supplies. Nice surprise. And then the courtesy bus dropped and Picked us up for an End of day Wine tasting with Emma at emmmas and dinner at Esca. Amazing food and views. And at the End of the day when it’s rather warm the pool Was a god send. Highly recommend this place.
