Beechworth House

Wow! We had heard nothing but rave reviews from very experienced travellers - and our experience at Beechworth House far exceeded our high expectations. From the time we entered the gates we were charmed by the beauty and comfort of the accommodation, tranquility of the setting and sublime hospitality of hosts Denis and Carolyn. Don’t want to share too many spoilers for prospective guests but the highlights included: the champagne and homemade lemon tart on arrival, gourmet dinner prepared our extraordinary personal chef Denis (especially the soufflé), peaceful swims among the gum trees in the blissful (solar heated) magnesium pool, the hot croissants and jam delivered to our door each morning, the beautifully appointed accommodation - and the charming company of our hosts Alan, Denis and Carolyn (usually accompanied by resident kookaburras, rosellas and many other native birds). Access to the friendly town and easy walks to the scenic lake were a bonus, as was a trip to the amazing Serengale local winery. We were joined by another couple and we all agreed that staying two nights is a must to savour the complete relaxation experience.

My wife and I had a fantastic time at Beechworth House. The stay was made memorable by the kind hospitality of Carolyn and Denis who are outstanding hosts. We also enjoyed the dinners prepared by Chef Dennis who is a fantastic chef and has a wicked sense of humour. We can’t thank you enough Carolyn and Denis for your kindness and warmth. We will definitely be back with our friends.

Beechworth House is a modern and comfortable accommodation in picturesque Beechworth. It has a rural setting on the edge of the village close to the town centre, just a short stroll. Carolyn and Denis are perfect hosts. Denis, an ex-Melbourne chef can provide dinner and breakfast. We really enjoyed our three course dinner and would happily recommend.

Amazing stay at Beechworth House. There is nothing to fault. Beautiful rooms, great location and fabulous hosts. The attention to detail is second to none. Planning out next stay which will definitely be longer.

My husband, dog and I spent four nights at Beechworth House and absolutely loved it! We stayed in the Citron room, which was perfect for our needs, complete with a lovely new bathroom. We chose the accommodation for the gourmet experience, comfortable room, dog friendly option and EV charger - and it did not disappoint. Denis and Carolyn were wonderful hosts - lovely to have a chat with, helpful with local recommendations and connections, and brilliant cooks! We enjoyed an in-house dinner on our second night, and all dishes were delicious. The standout were the fish soup entrée, and the soufflé dessert! Finally, I made the mistake of leaving something in the room and Denis very kindly posted it. 🙏🏼 Merci mille fois Denis et Carolyn, à bientôt!

Wonderful accommodation with beautifully set out rooms and high quality finishes. Letting the highly skilled Denis cook one night was an honour and a highlight. See photos for proof of amazing dishes he serves. Our dog and ourselves were welcomed like family and we will certainly be returning.

Absolutely magical experience thanks to lovely Carolyn and amazing chef Denis! Perfect setting with beautiful grounds, pool and kookaburras outside our beautifully appointed immaculate private suite. Enjoyed Champagne and lemon tarts and a refreshing swim before a magnificent 3 course dinner. One night is not enough!
