Headricks Lane

Came to Headricks Lane on my short trip to Rockhampton visiting local friends as it was highly recommended by a blog post. Beautiful setting, nice atmosphere and delicious food… once we finally received it. Entrees and initial drinks came out in a timely manner but after a large group of people arrived for an event, service completely fell by the wayside. We waited so long for our mains that a waitress came by and asked us if we were ready for dessert. Eventually we were informed about the staff shortage due to the event, resulting in the longer wait time. However no effort was provided to sate our hunger while we waited. We did not receive our mains until 1 hr 40 min after we arrived at the restaurant, and each seating is meant to be 2 hours. By the time our mains came, we had finished drinking our second round of drinks. The steak was absolutely delicious but I was so disappointed by the lack of service and complete lack of effort to make things right with us before we left by at least offering us a complimentary round of drinks for the long wait. For a higher end restaurant with a higher end price point, I was expecting a better experience. I would not return here as this demonstrates inconsistent service which could put a damper on a special night. Also, the bathroom section of the main floor smelled mildly of sewage.

Awesome atmosphere with a great vibe. The food was absolutely delicious, and they had some of the best cocktails I’ve had in Rocky. The servers were so lovely, especially Frances Murphy, who provided amazing hospitality and such a friendly, chill vibe. Will definitely be coming back again!

We did not have a booking - got a table for 6. Food came out quite quickly & was very delicious. The grandkids enjoyed their mocktails - we had to get some containers to take leftovers home.

Best steak I have had hands down! Salted caramel expresso Martini was Devine. We will be coming back. We want to try the other side as there are 2 different menus for each side

Booked a table 4 weeks in advance in the Bar area, unable to find the booking for 30 minutes was seated in the Restaurant, the staff were very accommodating (one girl was like a deer in headlights very unprofessional), they went above and beyond to fix any situation. We ordered the bar menu as we much preferred it over the other and the food was top tier. We will be back bar side.

Beautiful venue with very lovely staff. Unfortunately my friends & I were a little disappointed with a few small factors in the meals we ordered. We got the Brie cheese entree which came with walnuts & crisp bread slices, the melted Brie & walnuts were delicious but the bread just seemed stale. Wasn’t a nice crunch & depleted the dish. We also order the tuna tartare entree, which was served on a crispy rice slice & unfortunately it just did not complement the dish at all. The crispy rice was cold & very hard to bite into. The tuna itself was lovely. For the mains I had ordered the lamb back-strap which I did quite enjoy, the veggies were delicious & the sauce was very nice. Meat was cooked beautifully but wasn’t as tender as imagined. Cocktails were lovely & the atmosphere is beautiful. Just a few unfortunate factors that took away from the eating experience.

Wow, really nice, cool space with chilled and peaceful vibes. A friendly waitress that didn't overwhelm us and food we had was spot on. Maybe the menu could show a little more diversity but I'm sure the chef changes the menu regularly. Great job, Headricks Lane.
