Gold Rush Jewellers
Gold Rush Jewellers in Bendigo offers a range of services, but the quality can be hit-or-miss. While they excel in restoring heirloom pieces with remarkable craftsmanship and care, their watch repair services have been criticized for being selective and dismissive. The team's expertise in antique and sentimental pieces is noteworthy, with a commendable attention to detail and respect for the item's history.
The customer service at Gold Rush Jewellers can be inconsistent. Some experiences have been reported as excellent, with staff being knowledgeable and helpful. However, there have been instances of dismissive behavior and lack of willingness to assist with certain repairs. The resizing of rings has also been an issue, with reports of damage not being acknowledged or addressed satisfactorily. It is advisable to approach with caution and consider seeking multiple opinions for valuable items.

Customer Reviews
Gold Rush Jewellers has a rating of 4 out of 5 based on over 25 reviews on Google
Took my watch in to get a new battery put in, and the lady refused flat out to do it. Said it was a ‘decorative piece’ so would have to take it back to where I bought it. I had bought it in Sydney about 20 years ago. Terrible service. So I went to the bloke who cuts keys at the Marketplace who put one in straight away, with a two year warranty.
I cannot praise Goldrush Jewellers enough. They restored an heirloom antique pocket watch back to its former glory for my husband, and the result honestly took our breath away. This watch is incredibly sentimental to our family, and seeing it brought back to life with such care, precision, and respect for its history was nothing short of magical. The team at Goldrush Jewellers treated the piece like it was their own treasured heirloom. From the moment we stepped in the door Judy made us feel totally at ease with the process and answered all of our questions- and even provided us with some interesting insights into our watch. Our watch was restored on site, by Graeme. His craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion for what he does shines through every tiny component he touched. My husband was overwhelmed when he saw it, and I cannot thank the team enough for making this gift so meaningful. If you have anything precious, sentimental, or irreplaceable, trust Goldrush Jewellers. They truly are masters of their craft, and I would recommend them to the moon and back.
Took a bunch of watches there that I inherited and was told they weren’t worth anything. They recommended I sell them as a job lot for parts. I sold one of them on marketplace place for $40 because it was retro (from 1973) and the guy who bought it told me it was worth $250 (after he bought it). He also told me one of the other watches was worth $350 and a couple of others around $150 so this place had no idea of the value. I would not recommend going here if you want to know anything about your watches.
Don't waste your time going there for repairs. I took an antique watch to him. He took one look at it, shook his head and refused to take it because he was too busy. Didn't offer an option just refused to look at it. Then told me he was the only person between Melbourne and Mildura who did watch repairs. What is the point of that if you won't take jobs. I wasn't in a hurry but I didn't even get the option of leaving it with him. Business must be pretty good if you can knock back customers.
Purchased a 1930s diamond ring and when they resized it, they damaged some of the detailing. When questioned in regards to the damage they denied it, then claimed it was fine as all the stones were intact. Was never offered restoration or partial refund to cover cost of damage. Even though this happened a couple of years ago I was encouraged to post this review as the damage was quoted quite a bit to be fixed. Would never recommend this store or their services.
I consider my Longines watch as precious as my engagement ring and so was very reluctant to part with it for a service. I needn’t have worried as June from Gold Rush Jewellers was fabulous and took very good care of my watch. Gold Rush Jewellers provide excellent service and are highly recommended.
I believe that Graham the watch maker is one of the best in victoria, Australia. And his wife june is so helpful.
