The Mining Exchange Gold Shop

I presented the Store Manager with a 1908 King Edward VII sovereign, some $1.00 bank notes (in mint condition) and an Queen Elizabeth II 1980 gold coin, around 7 years ago and was offered the sum of $700 for the lot 😮. Needless to say, I hung on to this small collection. Yes, I was there 7 years ago but the items that were presented to you have not deteriorated and were worth more than what you were prepared to pay.

Some impressive gold nuggets in the window but unfortunately we couldn’t go in as on Tuesday’s they are closed 😔

Went to visit an antique fair there. Not a big place but rather cozy. Walking distance from the railway station.

To shop owner- there's no need for that arrogant attitude of a reply to a customer who says you give less than the gold is worth. You need to understand it from a customers perspective and get that if you were the customer you'd want more money for something wouldn't you?! It's only normal so no need to get so defensive and say if you don't like it.... that's a horrible response and attitude and reflects that you don't care about your customers. Your business would not be a business without customers. That customer did not deserve that from you. And no I don't know that guy I just happened to come across that review online. Customer service is really going downhill in this country.

Went into the mining exchange with some gold to sell. Cordell offered me his price and it was more then expected, there are a lot of places around that buy/sell gold and it was my 1st experience using the mining exchange and will be definitely going back with the lot. Thanks very much Cordell for you're service to ballarat and surrounds.

Went inside to have a look and escape the outside cold. Unfortunately it wasn't much warmer inside. Noticed little jars with specs of gold and were told they were $10, we thanked him and said "maybe next time ", to which he replied nothing. Upon leaving the store we greeted him with a good buy which again he replied nothing

The first time I went to the shop I was given good service and advice as I'm new to the Ballarat goldfields. I went in for the second time today and sold some gold. Very fair price indeed. Now to go find some more.
