Strathfield Golf Club

Great golf course. Good layout: a good mix of holes - difficult enough for low-handicappers but not too difficult for high handicappers. Maybe too many bunkers though (but that might reflect my uncanny ability to hit the ball in them!). Friendly, helpful pro shop staff. Clubhouse is fantastic with great facilities. Underground parking is a wonderful bonus - no coming back to find your car heated up to 5 million degrees C in summer! Only major negative is that the fairways are a bit patchy - in some areas there's no grass at all. Other than that the course is quite well-maintained.

One of the standout aspects of Stratford Golf Club is its atmosphere. The club prides itself on being welcoming and inclusive, with a strong sense of community. Not wide but interesting fairways and well managed greens. Excellent new club house. Want to go more. ^~^

We’ve dined here at the bistro a few times with both family and friends. Although we’ve made bookings each time, there’s generally been plenty of seating available. The menu is broad and very much in line with classic bistro or club-style dining, with a mix of schnitzels, steaks, fish and chips, and other crowd-pleasers. There’s something for everyone, prices are reasonable, and portion sizes are average. Across our visits we’ve tried fish and chips, schnitzels and steak dishes. Meals were served promptly, arrived hot, and were prepared as requested though on the average serving size. This isn’t table service dining — you order meals at the counter and purchase drinks from the main bar before bringing them back to your table. It’s a small inconvenience, but drink prices are fair. Overall, staff are friendly, the food is reliable and good value, and it’s a solid option we’d return to again when nearby.

We went for a late lunch at the Golf Club in Strathfield and loved the location and atmosphere. The customer service was excellent—especially from our waitress, Madryne (hope I’ve spelled that right). We had a food allergy issue with a margarita we ordered (it contained nuts), and she handled it brilliantly: calm, polite, and very professional. If we come back, we’ll definitely ask for you, Madryne—well done. You truly went above and beyond.

Lovely club and usually the food is okay, but not amazing and certainly not cheap. Unfortunately, the Chinese food nights on Tuesday and Wednesday are extremely disappointing. I won't be eating here again. For $23, I expected a reasonable portion when ordering the chicken and cashew nut dish. What arrived was the smallest serving I’ve experienced when eating out. The plate was mostly rice, with only four very small, hard cubes of chicken and a few pieces of vegetables in sauce. I was quite shocked and thought this must have been a mistake. Speaking to the table opposite me, they were also extremely dissapointed by their tiny portions. I raised this with two staff members, but both simply shrugged and said that was the serving size. Someone really needs to speak with the kitchen staff, as this is extremely poor value and not what you’d expect from an otherwise good venue.

Unfortunately for our big family lunch gathering on Sunday I have to say the food was awful. The chicken & mushroom pie was so runny it looked like a soup, the steak sandwich was so dry & not toasted, all the steaks we ordered were either way over cooked or way under it was practically raw they also didn’t have a healthy smell. We haven’t ever had such a horrible experience with food, especially when it’s pretty pricy . It’s such a shame to have bad food in such a great looking club!
