The space is filled with greenery and flowers, with both indoor and outdoor seating that makes you feel like you’re brunching in a peaceful garden. The atmosphere is calm, elegant, and unhurried, which is perfect for a slow catch-up or a relaxed weekend lunch we ordered the Blue Swimmer Crab Linguine and the Lamb Shoulder Salad, and both dishes were fresh, well-balanced, and thoughtfully plated. The juices were also refreshing and vibrant. Overall, a lovely dining experience with great food and an even better vibe. I can see why it’s a favourite

The August sausage muffin and it was easily a 12/10 — super juicy, perfectly seasoned, and paired with crispy hash browns. So satisfying and comforting. The Jack’s Creek MB4+ Scotch fillet was another standout. Cooked medium rare and done perfectly — juicy, tender, and full of flavour. Served with salad and chips, and there was genuinely nothing to complain about. The salmon bagel was decent and fresh. Nothing overly fancy, but you can really taste the quality of the salmon and cream cheese. For dessert, we had the French apple tart, served warm and not too sweet. Paired with ice cream, it was such a lovely finish to the meal. The venue itself is beautiful with a French-inspired vibe, offering both indoor and outdoor seating. It’s a really cute spot for a date or a catch-up. Definitely a place I’ll be coming back to.

Revisited one for my favourite cafes today with my boyfriend. The staff were lovely and accomodating as remembered. The food was fantastic, fresh, and so well presented. The well designed menu, made deciding on an order incredibly difficult. The repurposed Victorian style house, is surrounded by plants and the hidden avocado tree, with regular furry canine visitors. This all made for such a welcoming atmosphere and contributed to a lovely dining experience. We had the: Chinese dumpling basket, Chinese Peking duck pancake, mini cocktail, prawn roll, mini burger slider, tropical frappe mint cool juice, chocolate fondant, French apple tart. ❤️ The highlight was the dumpling basket for the both of us and also meeting all the dogs.

I had been wanting to enjoy a meal on a terrace on a sunny day, and I ended up having a delicious brunch at August the Old Place.☀️ From the moment you arrive, it feels like stepping into a beautiful garden. The greenery at the entrance immediately sets a lovely mood, and I felt relaxed and happy throughout the meal. Some guests were leisurely enjoying their coffee and reading books, which added to the peaceful and calm atmosphere 🌿 The food we ordered was absolutely delicious. I especially loved the Eggs Benedict — it was perfectly cooked and exactly my style. I would definitely recommend trying it!! We also ordered a tropical juice and a mixed berry smoothie with our brunch, and both were fresh and full of flavour. My personal pick was the tropical juice. If you’re visiting Mosman and looking for a place where you can enjoy a peaceful brunch surrounded by a beautiful garden, I highly recommend stopping by. It’s a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy good food 💛

What a hidden gem! This place is absolutely stunning nestled in a heritage building with an amazing vibe that’s perfect for photos. I loved that it felt like a local favorite; the shop was filled with locals rather than being a tourist trap. Eggs Benedict: My friend ordered this, and it was a game changer. The classic combo of ham, baby spinach, and English muffin was elevated by their incredible Hollandaise sauce, which had a savory, creamy, mayo-like richness. Mixing it with the runny egg yolk was the ultimate finishing touch. August Sausage Muffin: As a huge fan of McDonald’s breakfast muffins, I had to try this, and it did not disappoint! The "sausage" is actually more like a thick, juicy double patty. It was perfectly seasoned and very filling the ultimate comfort food.

We had such a lovely brunch at August The Old Place - easily one of the prettiest cafés we’ve visited in Sydney so far. The space itself feels like a little fairytale cottage, with cosy interiors, rustic details and a beautiful courtyard that’s perfect on a sunny day. There’s a great mix of indoor and outdoor seating and it’s also very dog friendly, which adds to the relaxed neighbourhood feel. They have gluten free bread available and were happy to adapt dishes. I had the salmon bagel served on gluten free toast and swapped the sausage for bacon to make the breakfast roll gluten free. The team were knowledgeable about cross-contamination too and explained that the fryer is shared, which I appreciated as it’s helpful for anyone coeliac to know. The food was excellent across the board. The salad I had on the side was incredibly fresh and full of flavour, and the standout dish for me was the Cone Bay barramundi fillet - genuinely one of the best pieces of fish I’ve had in Australia. Fresh juices were around $9-10 and most dishes sit roughly between $20-40, which feels fair for the quality and portion sizes. It’s clearly a popular spot, so I’d definitely recommend booking ahead, especially on weekends!

The garden and the vibe are stunning. It’s a grand Victorian house with high ceilings and a beautiful atmosphere that feels both luxe and cozy. The Blue Swimmer Crab Linguine was my absolute favourite, light, delicious, and they definitely don't skimp on the crab. The Jack’s Creek Scotch Fillet was also a highlight, cooked to a perfect medium-rare with a really refreshing edamame salad. For a refreshing hit, the Tropical Frappe is a must-order, and a glass of Prosecco is the perfect way to start the meal. ​We finished with their signature French Apple Tart and a silky Crème Brûlée. The service is friendly, but the food can take a while to arrive. Also, if it’s a hot day, I’d definitely recommend sitting inside. Overall, a relaxed, high-end Mosman brunch.
