If you put a lighthouse in my vicinity, I will go there, and this was a good one. Did I go up to the lighthouse? No. Do I know who built it or when? Also no. But just look at that chequerboard tower. So many lighthouses really phone it in when it comes to a decorative flourish. That right there is a stylish geometry David Lynch would adore. The path below winds a short way to grassy dunes and a soft, sandy stretch of beach. Sunset here is one of the best, top 10 maybe, and the kind of golden light you can practically drink. Also can someone identify this bird?
View is fantastic scarp to the ocean. Swimming at beach spotting dolphins 🐬 then back for spa and swim in the indoor pool. Great place to stay.
We really enjoyed our visit to Bunbury Lighthouse. It’s a striking landmark with its unique black-and-white chequered design and makes for some great photos, especially during late afternoon and sunset. The surrounding coastal paths are beautiful for a walk along the beach, and there’s ample parking nearby, which made it easy to stop by. While you can’t go inside the lighthouse itself, the views of the sea and coastline more than make up for it. A peaceful spot to stretch your legs and enjoy Bunbury’s coastal scenery.
Although it’s an impressive and important structure you can’t find any info about it to feed the curiosity. It’s easy enough to find as you walk along the cost path to the Marlston Lookout. Fantastic sunset views from this spot for sure. It’s a nice long path, perfect for a dog walk etc
Bunbury lighthouse is a cute little black-and-white-checkered lighthouse, quite unlike the bright red ones I've seen along other parts of Perth's coasts. Sadly, you can't climb it or get very near it as it is fenced up. Next best thing to do is take a walk along the beach near the lighthouse, which we did on this sunny day, don't mind the brolley for sun protection.
Bunbury Lighthouse offers a breathtaking view of the sea. We stopped there to have breakfast on our way to Albany. There were ample parking spaces along the beach. However, there’s no public access to the lighthouse itself. Instead, there’s a jogging and walking path that circles the area.
Incredible panorama of the ocean. After a lengthy absence, it is wonderful to be back at Bunbury. The lighthouse continues to be in excellent condition and exudes a wonderful appearance. An excellent location from which to take a seat and watch the waves crash or to walk down to the beach for a stroll.
