I would give 4.5☆ coz sometimes it does smell like piss. Otherwise this is one of my favourite places to visit when in the the CBD. It's a wonderful way to get from the CBD to richmond and get a little excersize. Lots of big trees for shade in summer and I love walking through the crunchy fallen leaves in autumn. Walk through the conservatory if you can and even a look at Cook's cottage from the outside is good. The park is beautifully maintained and there is always something pretty to admire.

This park has my heart, the first time i went was in the fall/autumn and i was stunned by its colorful trees, and the amount of people enjoying their time. It was something out of a 90s movie; kids riding bikes, families having picnics, while other were on a jog or a casual walk. This park is massive, and every way you turn has something beautiful to offer.

We recently spent some time at Fitzroy Gardens and it’s such a beautiful, free spot for a family day out right in the city. The gardens feel calm and almost storybook-like, with winding paths, shady trees and little surprises tucked away everywhere. The playground was a big hit with the kids — especially the dragon slide and giraffe swings — and there’s loads of open space for picnics, kicking a ball or just letting the kids run around. There’s plenty to explore along the way, including the tiny Tudor Village hidden among the trees, the Fairy Tree with its carved characters that kids love spotting, and Captain Cook’s Cottage, which is really interesting to see up close even if you don’t go inside. The Conservatory is also worth a stop, filled with colourful seasonal flowers and a nice quiet moment away from the bustle. With wide paths, lots of shade and plenty of places to pause for a snack, it’s easy to spend a few relaxed hours here. A great option for school holidays, weekends or anytime you’re after a free, family-friendly outing in Melbourne.

A nice garden to visit in the city. The park is quite big so it is also a great place to run or walk around the park. It is also very clean, and has vibrant grass which makes it very pretty to take some nice photos around the park. It is also quite peaceful, a great place to go from the city to enjoy a more peaceful ambience.

What a beautiful garden to visit on our holiday. We only had time for a quick stop but you could definitely spend a good amount of time here, either on your own, with your partner or even your family with kids. There is a mini Tudor Village, water fountains, very climbable trees, multiple statues, an amazing playground and so much more!
