One of the best hotels in Melbourne. So recommended. Stay with clean and staff were friendly
Benchmarking it to Park Hyatts where I am a regular you wonder…Location is great, but the property shows its age. Rooms are in need of a comprehensive refurbishment. So is the attitude of the front office manager Mr A.. We were disenchanted with our suite, which effectively was a standard room with a wall in the middle; it felt cramped. We asked for an alternative and the friendly front office staff said he found a solution. He then called his manager to approve the change and introduced me to him by name. The manager would neither greet me, nor seek eye contact, looked at the proposal, then looked up to me and simply said ‚this is what you booked. Nothing I can do.‘ I felt like in an episode of Little Britain. Certainly, luxury was not personal, Hyatt. Worst service attitude ever. Feeling very un-welcome, we left the same evening for much greener shores in the neighbourhood. If you like l recommend looking at other options and the property to be de-flagged.
Overall, a wonderful hotel. Rooms were great, nice spa, great facilities, scrumptious breakfast and well located for walking around central Melbourne! The staff were friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. Really gorgeous facility, nice gym and spa. We were in the Cathedral wing and had a fantastic view of the Cathedral. Also had a nice view of the hotel from our balloon ride, which went right over the CBD!
A lovely hotel stay. A massive thank you to Maria at reception who made us instantly feel welcomed and bookended this with a warm farewell. This hotel also has a super interesting and wonderful wine list… so wine lovers this is a gem for you ✨💃🍷
I recently booked 2 rooms for a quick trip based on the marketing stating it offered airport shuttle service. I called the concierge prior to our arrival and after I had the rooms booked for over a month and was then told they offered no such service. Let's just say my discussion with the floor/assistant manager was a waste of time! Meanwhile it cost my group over $200 in UBER fees in addition to the $$$/room rate. The room rates were fine when I took the fees I would save with the marketed "airport shuttle" service into account. More disappointed in the customer and lack of concern then anything.
We booked dog friendly room. Here is like is the only place in cbd that not discriminate dog by their weight. It my birthday and my dog birthday so my partner want to spoiled us. What a right choice. Room were spacious. Nice bathroom with big tub. Le labo amenities provided. If you could upgrade to Japanese toilet would be amazing. We try in house restaurant for dinner. No expectation as we cant be bother spend hundreds of dollars on fancy plans nearby just to sit outside in the cold with dog. Food was amazing. Everything delicious and generous portion. Highly recommend bug Pasta. One of the best I ever eat in melbourne. Will definitely come back again soon for family staycayion.
This would be a great hotel if it was a Westin or Hilton. However, for a luxury hotel it slightly missed the mark. 1. Since we started our stay, it's felt like more reactive hospitality than proactive hospitality. Not bad service, with some really nice workers, but also not the service you expect from a luxury stay 2. The beds are crazy firm. Not great if you're a side sleeper 3. Location is excellent if you're in town for a sporting event. There are better hotels (W, Ritz) if youre in town for the foodie side of melbourne and riverfront 4. I was expecting to be wowed by the lobby area, which came up massively short. When I checked in there was only one person working the front desk, and I had to wait 5ish minutes to check-in. No one offered us a refreshment. Hotel is very clean/nice, but also a bit dated 5. Breakfast was fantastic. Dinner food was fairly mid-tier and disappointing. We tried ordering the burger, but they refused to cook it anything but medium well (implying quality could be better) The good: 1. Right next to prominent park and Melbourne's chinatown. Easy access to sporting venues 2. Great breakfast buffet
