I purchased a diamond ring from Michael Hill at the Eastland branch. Unfortunately, when the ring turned out to be too big for my wife, our experience at the Northland branch was extremely disappointing. We went there to enquire about resizing, but one of the senior sales staff (a sales lady) was very unwelcoming. She did not greet us at all, showed no warmth, and made us feel judged and uncomfortable. Her body language and attitude suggested she was unhappy dealing with us, which is unacceptable—especially for a brand that prides itself on customer service. Buying a diamond ring is a special and meaningful purchase, and customers should be treated with respect regardless of the situation. This experience left a very negative impression and does not reflect the level of service I would expect from Michael Hill. I hope management addresses this issue and provides better customer service training at the Northland branch.

The only reason it isn’t a 1 star is because of the wonderful manager that took over from Sharon today. I normally would never name a person when doing a review but I am sorry but Sharon has terrible customer service skills, the intensity of her is just on another level.. very unprofessional.. when asking to have my ring re sized half a size smaller.. she asked "what have you lost weight?" … it’s just so unprofessional.. we use this store because we have to for our rings under the care plan but before we go we pray and pray we won’t have to see Karen.. sorry I mean Sharon.. sorry Sharon you need to do some serious self reflection on your customer service because you give a vibe of AVOID AVOID AVOID! Also the quality of the white gold rings are terrible. They turn yellow within a few weeks to a month and are so soft they scratch and mine snapped after a resizing :/

Me and my partner went past on a Sunday to look at the engagement rings and we’re served by the lovely Sarah, she was very helpful. She showed us many different styles until we found one that we liked. Great customer service and friendly attitude.

If I could give zero stars, I would. Purchased an engagement ring with a Care Plan and missed an inspection by four days, then was told the Lifetime Diamond Warranty was void, despite the ring being inspected and confirmed to be in perfect condition. It was not explained at purchase how rigidly this warranty is enforced, or that being even a few days late would result in it being cancelled. No reminders, no discretion, no goodwill. A "lifetime" warranty that disappears over four days is not what most people would reasonably expect. Extremely disappointing experience.

Update: 10/12/25 After several attempts of contacting online customer support, nothing has been done to fix the appalling service I received. It was shocking to see that instead of rectifying your staff's attitudes, she is now recruiting her family/friends to post fake positive reviews to counteract the real ones. This is deeply embarrassing, especially coming from leadership staff - I will not name any names but you know who you are. I suggest you work on this. 4 weeks ago - (Came into Northlands two weeks ago on Wednesday in search of a gift for a girlfriend's 40th. Made eye contact with the young Rounder brunette girl to signal for some assistance but she dismissed it completely and didn't seem to care. Continued chatting loudly with her colleague. Was disappointing to say the least as I had $$ to spend even though I probably didn't look it in my after work clothes.!)

Disappointed with the service at Michael Hill. The young girl with curly hair (Friday, 17 Oct at 5 p.m.) seemed uninterested. I walked out and went to another store, where I purchased a set and received much better service.
