Huon Hill

The steak I ordered was probably one of the best I have ever eaten at a pub if I’m being honest (big call, I know) The garlic flatbread entree was a good portion of food and a refreshing change from the standard garlic bread, and even the sides that came with the mains were generously portioned, drinks were good priced as well! It was my first time eating here and I will definitely be back, if this standard of food keeps up this very well could be a regular spot to eat for us from now on

Excellent lunch service today. Three young guys behind the bar were very engaging and very helpful. Food was prompt and spot on. Came a few months ago and was disappointed with food and service, but today’s experience was awesome.

Had a great stay and meal at Huon Hill Hotel in Wodonga. The barramundi was cooked perfectly — fresh, flaky and full of flavour, and my friend’s steak was tender and spot on. The rooms were clean, intimate and surprisingly spacious, and the vibe was relaxed with friendly service. Would happily stay and eat here again.

Had a dinner reservation for my Mum’s 60th. Great food with decent sized portions. Comfortable and pleasant atmosphere. Super friendly and smiley staff that go that extra mile.

Trivia Night at Huon Hill on the 14th was especially disappointing given it was the first trivia night back for the new year. The night was poorly organised, with a strange room change, missing equipment/not working correctly, which ultimately meant trivia could not go ahead and patrons left disappointed, including our table. The trivia host was unfairly caught in the middle, as these issues were not his fault but rather the hotel’s inability to provide the facilities and equipment needed to run the event smoothly. The food has changed significantly since JDA has taken over. My Snapper special on Wednesday night was over cooked leaving the fish dry, and at $35, this seemed a little more than steep for the size of the piece of fish, french fries and a small amount of salad.

I have visited Huon Hill previously and generally had positive experiences. Yesterday, I made an online booking for trivia and dinner. Today, I called to confirm if a low table could be arranged due to a knee injury, as it is difficult to get up and down from higher seating. Unfortunately, this request was declined, and I was advised that the venue was too busy to accommodate it. This was disappointing, particularly from an accessibility perspective, as it may also limit participation for people with physical disabilities or some wheelchair users. Accessibility is an important consideration for inclusive venues, and I was surprised that this could not be accommodated.

Attended for lunch today. No booking , easy access to tables. We weren’t even told of lunch specials. Ordered. Portions quite small. Seniors fish and chips was one piece of fish. Basically 4 inches long and 2 inches wide. I have a small appetite but was still hungry after this. Hubbys steak gristly. Not overly impressed
