Having previously been to these premises, where the food was exceptional to having what was served in our latest visit was very disappointing. Attention to preparation would go a long way . Pasta semi raw , not even al dente , pork sausages very dry ,lamb ribs were of poor quality leaving a distasteful grease taste ,attempted to talk to staff whom were very busy to no avail . Having had an exceptional lunch on our previous visit we were left very disappointed. May attempt again when not super busy and ample staff , bar , and service are available.

Great food, great drinks, and a beautiful atmosphere. Everything was really enjoyable, and the overall experience felt great value for money. Will definitely come back again!

I was very ill whilst eating here, the food was tasty and atmosphere was nice. ..not sure if it was the food. The waitress disregarded it a bit and the lady table next to us also felt ill. Seemed a bit strange we were both sick, I would have liked the waitress to reassure and check in with the kitchen at least to prevent anyone else getting sick but that wasn’t the case.

Loved this place. It's a little slow at first, have to use a QR code to put your order in. After that everything was great. There was good live music, made the experience very enjoyable. Did not get any food. Maybe next time.

This beautiful, historic venue has it all. Overlooking the harbour foreshore, it's spacious beer garden is the perfect place to relax & enjoy drinks with friends, whilst soaking up some afternoon sun. The picturesque setting with the fountains, & glorious vistas of the foreshore & harbour really make time spent here extra special. Whether it be a cold beer, cocktail, lunch or dinner, this is definitely one of Newcastle's iconic gems that must be experienced. As well as the sunny beer garden, (where live music plays during the summer months) as you walk up the steps, a grand verandah greets you with more seating options. Stepping inside, you'll be blown away further by it's historic, ornate interior. Take time to look around & savour all it's delights. I had lunch here a year ago & the food was top notch. My most recent visit was a week ago for some afternoon Birthday drinks in the beer garden. The staff & service here is fantastic, & I couldn't recommend Customs House more for your next Newy experience.

We booked Customs House Hotel for our wedding and we couldn’t recommend it more! We booked their Harbourmasters Lounge because of its beautiful wooden floors and natural beauty. Hannah was amazing at answering all of our questions and keeping us organised the day of! The staff throughout the night were amazing, the girls serving us went above and beyond and were so polite and nice to talk to and the food was amazing! I would highly recommend booking Customs House Hotel for any event.

We spent a fabulous sunny Saturday afternoon listening to music, having a few drinks enjoying the wonderful atmosphere and stunning views. A visit to the historic building should be a must for locals and tourists alike. Service was prompt and friendly, the food was of high quality and reasonably priced.
