Positive: We loved the resort feel, the pools were incredible and the food was exceptional. We will definitely return. Negative: We extended our stay and the second room felt a little excluded. Also, the shower didn’t have a screen and leaked like a river behind the toilet and we had to put a towel there. Also, the shower head and pressure wasn’t the best in that room.

The hotel room was clean, spacious, and clearly recently renovated. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. We were able to store our luggage safely in a locked baggage room. The hotel grounds are beautiful, with clean and very attractive pool areas surrounded by lush plants. In the early evening, you can even see fruit bats flying over the property, which adds a special touch to the atmosphere. The hotel is a bit further away from the city centre, but only 15min from the airport.

The Resort was fantastic, much more than I expected after quickly booking online as we decided to make a quick visit to family. Great location and great ammenities available at the resort. I loved that we didn't have to go looking for restaurants. The room was clean. The bed was not the most comfortable I have slept on, but I am very fussy. But it was ok for a few days. Food at the cafe & Pizza Pasta restaurant was lovely. The staff at reception were very friendly and welcoming. Only one staff member needed a little attitude adjustment, on New Years Day - I am hoping that she was maybe a little hungover or tired from working all night the night before, and that it was not a reflection of her attitude in general. But I can overlook that for a generally great stay and great stay.

Room was comfortable and very clean, if dated. It would have been good to have a clothes horse in the room for drying swimsuits etc. and some hooks on the bathroom door. Guest lounge was spacious, but could really use a comfy couch or a couple of armchairs. Pools were nice.

Great value accommodation close to Cairns. Just 10 minutes from the city, this place offers clean, comfortable rooms at an affordable price. The restaurant and bar serve delicious food and drinks, making it easy to relax without having to go far. We’ve stayed here several times, including hosting a large 60th birthday celebration and my daughter’s 7th birthday weekend. It’s a fantastic spot for families with young kids — highly recommend!

Currently staying at Cairns Colonial club resort, it is a beautiful resort, absolutely huge. Lots of swimming options with little lagoons/pools all over the resort. The resort is a tropical jungle, it’s simply beautiful. Reception staff are so accommodating and helpful, you can book all your tours through reception. There are a Couple of restaurants on site and laundry facilities. Rooms are clean, although from our experience, there isn’t much room for suitcases, wardrobes are small and all hanging space, so no where to unpack and settle in. We have a king size bed in a seperate room and two singles in main living area, the bedroom with king size bed only has one bedside table, and no PowerPoints either side of bed, which was a pain as we both like to charge phones of a night and have somewhere to sit a drink. Another inconvenience we are finding is there is nowhere to hang wet bathers and wet beach towels to dry when you are on the ground floor with no balcony to hang your clothes on. Before coming here, we were In the Gold Coast and we had a clothes airer in our room, and a pull out clothes line in the bathroom, which was a really great idea for a resort that has swimming on site. I am also a smoker, and very conscious of other people and children being around, the smoking areas are limited, and the one closest to my room is under a staircase leading to upstairs rooms and in a main thoroughfare. I feel very uncomfortable smoking here, as I have read other complaints about the upstairs balcony’s smelling like an ashtray, which would not be nice for non smokers. Over all, we would definitely stay here again, but would probably select a different room that more suits our needs.

We stayed here for a week and found it to be a good place to stay if you are going to be out on day trips and don't plan to spend too much time at the hotel. Overall, the hotel is a bit tired looking, but seems good for families and not bad for the price we paid. We had a garden room right beside the busy main pool. It was noisy at times, but fortunately by 9pm quietened down. The good things we found were: Comfortable beds and a new / nice shower (but small) Staff were helpful and friendly. If you called to ask for something they would help quickly. Son loved the pool and water slide Lovely reception building The cafe area was bright and nice / but generally quite busy Not so good: Small rooms and not well spaced out Run-down hotel, feels like 3 stars in many places The second pool has a boarded - up bar that looks terrible and dated... not super well cared for in many places We asked for a room away from the main pool (as noisy) on the first day, and we were offered a room right next to a smoking area, (was gross) and not ideal with our 8-year-old son. Thus, we stayed by the main noisy pool. There were some rough looking guests and saw a confrontation with a drunk man and staff out the front one night. Perhaps the alcohol vending machine in the foyer doesn’t help 🤷‍♀️ Not sure we'll be back unless they do a renovation. In saying that, we overall were comfortable during the stay,.
