Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, Gold Coast

Always a pleasure staying at the Sheraton. We had a minor noise issue from the room next door, but the team went above and beyond to find us another room so we could fully enjoy our stay. A short 30-second walk to the beach is all it takes to be completely blown away. Perfect choice for small families and couples looking for a relaxing getaway.

What a stunning place and staff are incredibly friendly. Very fancy vibes with glasses of Champaign on arrival, all restaurants are top notch, pools are great and just steps from the beach. What else could you ask for a weekend away. There was a mix up with my room on my birthday but was all sorted quickly and amicably. Beautiful hotel and location, food at the Terrace was super delicious, and drinks and music with great staff at The Pearl was just what I needed to end the evening - everything was tidy and lux. Huge shout out to Ebony for sorting everything on arrival, Catherine at The Terrace for the smiles and the delicious food spoils and to Abraham for looking after me when I cut my foot. We will definitely be back.

More like 4.5 stars. Only thing preventing 5 stars is the rooms and bathrooms are dated but very clean and well equipped. If you get an ocean view room the views are exceptional. Windows open all of the way so you can enjoy ocean breezes and the sound of the waves. Resort is also a bit run down but beautiful. The pool is clean and deep with a swim up bar. Drink selection better than most and wines and beers well priced. Food by the pool is on the pricey side but really good options and portion sizes. On my last stay 4 years ago the service really let this venue down. It was exceptional this time. Even walking by through the venue they all smile and say hello. The real winner at this venue is the beach. Being able to swim in the ocean and a nice pool is very hard to find. Aldo recommend Pearls bar for drinks and food. I will be back.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Sheraton Grand Mirage, travelling with our 20-month-old. The pool area is fantastic, with a small kids’ pool and plenty of walkways around the resort for little ones to explore. The buffet breakfast was great, and the evening turndown service was a lovely touch. The hotel is located in a quieter part of the Gold Coast compared to Surfers Paradise, which we appreciated, and Tedder Avenue is just nearby with plenty of great dining options. There were also some standout staff members, particularly at the breakfast buffet, who were exceptionally friendly and welcoming. On the downside, the pool bar is in need of considerable renovation. Unfortunately, during our visit the lagoons were undergoing renovations and were drained, which was disappointing. There are also noticeable signs of wear and aging throughout the hotel, as mentioned by previous reviewers, and a small number of staff were less friendly than expected. Overall, a pleasant, family-friendly stay with a great location and amenities, though some updates would really elevate the experience.

I chose your resort to celebrate two very special milestones in my life: my birthday and my retirement. Even before my arrival, Manager Andrea’s thoughtful and meticulous coordination made me look forward to this trip with great excitement. Throughout my stay, I was deeply moved by the genuine hospitality of every staff member I encountered. Especially upon entering my room after check-in, I was pleasantly surprised by the lovely welcome amenities and a handwritten letter from Manager Marie. It was truly touching and made my celebration even more meaningful. Thanks to your team's dedicated service, I had a wonderful time and I am already looking forward to visiting again in the near future. This is a very nice place, with great pool, an outstanding, beautiful new gym - with complimentary water bottles, cold refill water, towels, cooled towels, and fantastic range of machines, weights, and other equipment - and a few steps away from the beach, and a lovely marina with good restaurants and fish and chips shop. Surfers Paradise is not too far - we hired bikes and enjoyed a beautiful bike ride. Customer service is exceptional all around - from porters, through any other staff to managers: we also had an issue with the room, and it was resolved promptly with a few compliments for our troubles. Rooms are nice, clean, spacious with lovely touches, but slightly less modern than maybe some other 5 star hotels and resorts we have been to. Pool is great - warm and large with free refreshing cold and mineral water; there are also great cocktails, food and service. Very family friendly. Buffet is a must - it is exceptional. Overall- highly recommended.

The Sheraton GMR badly need a full renovation. Rotten timbers, rusted out metal fittings, broken tiles, worn out furniture, curtains with holes, cracks in the facade, missing and broken tiles in the pool area, lounge sunshades perished and on and on. It really does look quite sad and dated. Being charged $25/day for underground parking in a 5 star resort is ridiculous. One small worn out bar, a poorly designed dining area and vast wasted spaces in the fountain area (that is also filthy). The in room menu is terrible. As an example, seafood chowder says mussels and prawns, plural. You get one of each and a few cubes of potato and a separate sauce that tastes and has the consistency of a packet soup mix. All for $24. There are many more examples of overpriced and poorly made meals. The buffet breakfast is bargain basement. Very average. Hot food is often cold. We only ate once in the 'restaurant'. Same food as in room dining both in terms of poor quality and price. The rooms are dated with worn fittings and old style bathrooms. The AC vents are clogged with dirt. Cupboards that wont stay closed, curtains full of holes, running toilet and a number of other issues ....issues in the room were mentioned on the first day - nothing was done over the four days we were there. The shopping and food area across the walkway is closed awaiting someone to buy the property and build. This means you have to drive or get an uber to find somewhere decent to eat. We really thought Sheraton would be above the Marriotts we have stayed in - definitely not. The staff were pleasant however and helpful. We won't be back.
