We had the most beautiful and peaceful stay at the 2-bedroom Boathouse Villa at Leaves & Fishes. Props to Kristy for agreeing to our request in booking a 1-night stay instead of the min 2-night requirement. Honestly, if our schedule permits, we would love to stay longer as we can’t get enough of this place. It honestly felt like stepping into another world. From the time we entered and saw the balcony, we we’re mesmerized by the view of the fully bloomed lotus flowers resting on lily pads across the lake, and the koi fish just casually swimming — it was the prettiest view and so calming to just sit and take in. One of the most special moments was seeing kangaroos right outside our window in the yard. It felt so surreal and uniquely Australian, like nature was all around us but in the most gentle, quiet way. The boathouse itself was warm, cozy, and beautifully designed. I also loved my time cooking in their beautiful kitchen space. Everything felt thoughtful and intentional, making it easy to slow down and fully relax. The whole property is incredibly serene, yet still close to wineries and everything in Hunter Valley. It’s the perfect place if you want to disconnect, recharge, and experience something truly special. We already want to come back.

We couldn’t have chosen a more beautiful venue than Leaves & Fishes for our wedding. The setting is absolutely stunning with peaceful gardens, water views, and a sense of privacy that made the day feel so special and intimate. Kristy and her team were wonderful to deal with and made the planning process smooth and stress free. The accommodation onsite was also incredible and added to the overall experience for us and our family that stayed the night before and the night of our wedding. This was our first time staying at Leaves and Fishes in the Hunter Valley and we can not speak more highly of it. The team were lovely to deal with and extremely flexible. The boathouse itself was absolutely beautiful and felt luxurious and relaxing. The location of Leaves and Fishes is perfect as it is central to various places in the Hunter Valley! We highly recommend and will be back.

We had our wedding at leaves and fishes and it was nothing short of perfect. From the beginning, Kristy was incredible! She made the entire process feel effortless. Nothing was ever too much trouble, every question was answered with kindness and patience and she created such a calm, fun, stress free environment for us. The venue is breathtaking! It’s so spacious and versatile, giving you endless opportunities to create a magical day that’s uniquely yours. We held our ceremony at the columns, enjoyed our cocktail hour along the rainforest walk and celebrated our reception in the sunken garden, each space was so stunning in its own way, creating the most spectacular photo opportunities The onsite accommodation was incredible, not only aesthetically gorgeous but surrounded by nature. I woke up to kangaroos outside in the morning which made it feel even more magical Alfie’s catered our wedding and the food was exceptional. So many of our guests came up to us to rave about not only how outstanding the food was, but how outstanding the service felt throughout the night Leaves and fishes gave us the most magical, seamless, unforgettable day. We truely couldn’t recommend this venue more highly. It was perfect in every single way ❤️

Our new fave spot in the Hunter to stay! It felt like we were in a tropical retreat. So relaxing, was able to have early check in for a wedding, champagne on arrival at my husband’s request… 20/10 recommend!!!

Our family and guests were blown away by the food, the service, and the serene beauty of the property. It was truly a weekend filled with love, joy, and unforgettable memories. Leaves and Fishes is like stepping into another world. My husband and I used to love going to Bali before we had kids, and this stay gave us that same nostalgic, romantic "honeymoon" feeling. The Indonesian inspired setting and interiors were absolutely stunning. Waking up and opening the doors to the deck right over the water each morning was magical, and feeding the koi fish and turtles became an unexpected highlight. The beds are super comfy, and the waterfall shower over the biggest bath I’ve ever seen was pure luxury. Highly recommend to any couple looking for a peaceful, romantic getaway in the Hunter Valley.
