Savannah Function Centre
Savannah Function Centre at Dubbo Zoo offers a unique wedding venue that blends natural beauty with modern event spaces, particularly in the Savannah Room. The scenic surroundings provide excellent photo opportunities, making it ideal for couples seeking a memorable setting. While the quality of food and the zoo’s attractions add significant value, attention to service consistency—such as responsiveness, technical preparedness, and staff availability—can enhance the overall experience.
The venue’s location stands out as a highlight, combining convenience with a one-of-a-kind atmosphere. However, factors like air conditioning efficiency and logistical details, such as venue access for service providers, may require closer management. For those prioritizing a seamless event, proactive communication and thorough pre-event checks can help address potential gaps, ensuring a polished experience.

5 Stars for the function team in the Savannah Room on 18/2 and a special Shout Out to Rachael for being so personable and charismatic!!
I have filmed and photographed several weddings here and it never ceases to amaze. There are so many great spots for the photo session and the all in one venue works so well for couples. I would absolutely recommend it for a wedding in Dubbo.
We recently had our wedding in the Savannah Room. Very slow replies from the zoo event organisers, sometimes waiting weeks in between. No drinks for the bride & groom waiting at the end of the aisle as organised, the indoor table cloths had bird poo, dust and bugs on them, they were also creased. They did not have a USB port for an android phone to play music, even though we had double checked beforehand and was told that playing our own music after the band finished wouldn't be an issue - ended up having to play music through a staff members iPhone. We had to go and find staff on numerous occasions to order drinks and ask questions, as they were hanging out in the staff room and left the bar unattended. Only some of the decorations were packed up the next day, when it was all meant to be boxed up and easy to remove. Not impressed with the service that we paid good money for, but the food, location and animal encounter was good.
Wonderful Setting, great food and staff. However they need to invest in some decent airconditioning as it was unbearable in the Dubbo heat at present. Also there was no lighting outside which was quite dangerous. When we called a cab the cab driver couldnt get in and had to wait on a car leaving the venue. Just not good enough.
The location doesn’t get better. Lovely spot and great photo opportunity’s. Had a formal event here and it was very great. Would recommend for any event.
Wonderful day out , walked around the entire zoo 👍 also had Gluten free sausage rolls at cafe & Mumblepeg Orange juice fron Narromine
The Zoo is a great place to visit. Just make sure you pick the right day to go , when it's not too hot.
