Hotel Darwin

Tuesday wing night at Hotel Darwin is my weekly go-to when I’m in town for work. The wings come out super hot (temperature) and properly spicy. I always go with the hot buffalo over BBQ — great flavor, solid heat, and consistently cooked well. Not "psycho hot" like I personally enjoy, but genuinely tasty and hits the spot every time. The wings are massive — easily some of the biggest I’ve been served — and at around $22 AUD for a full kilo, it’s solid value as well. For someone who eats a lot of wings and likes real heat, this is a bit of a diamond in the rough. It’s become my Tuesday night staple while I’m in Darwin. Thinking about giving rib night a shot next.

24 years since i was last here. Not too bad. The wednesday special was the rack of ribs for$22. Size was good about 400g including bones maybe a little more. Meat was tender and falling off the bone, 1 dry bit but the BBQ sauce did mask it well. Not a BBQ sauce fan but i knew what i was asking for when i ordered it, nice and tangy, could have had a bit more on the side. taste was pretty good all in all, chip and salad portion as per any normal meal anywhere. price great. Normally double that. Give a 7/10. Issue is you need to download the 'loaded rewards' app to get at that price. For me not an issue but as a visitor here for a few days i won't benefit from the rewards. Barman was chatty and friendly and a few people in the venue. Yep I'll be back again. Try it out for the specials.

Great spot for a meal and or a drink. Great outdoor and indoor space, plenty of sport to watch on TV, good range of beers also. I had the steak which was cooked exactly how I asked for and the garlic cream with it was delicious!

Food was very disappointing..We have been going here for years now with new owners no atmosphere which is a shame, I had a Canadian club and dry and you had to go into the bar room to get one as main area don't have it their.. I ordered lasagna what I got was mince sauce covered in cheese not one bit of pasta in it perhaps they could've just said we have ran out of it instead of serving that pile of mince .. Such a shame for a iconic pub to go down hill like this .. also to order the specials you hve to download a app on your phone so they can scan it which took 10 mins by time you filled in all questions.. this pub is off my list now only worth a beer out the front but dont expect music

Steak was alight. Can’t replace chips with veg or salad instead. Which is odd, usually I’m able to either pay extra or replace it. But it’s ok if the chips were normal. They were horrible, overcooked and looked like half eaten. I visit Darwin city quite a lot and this will be my last time at this venue. Maybe chef needs to check how to fry chips…

I was very very disappointed in the Pumpkin salad As you can see It’s nearly 95 percent baby spinach leaves Cost is $26- it read as pumpkin ,pine nuts, feta cheese , dressing and leaves It was very lucky to have had 1 teaspoon of feta, 1 teaspoon of pine nuts Maybe 1-2 tablespoons if your lucky of cooked pumpkin The rest baby spinach leaves I did tell them and show them before I ate I think it’s the very first time I have EVER complained about a meal and the associated cost Totally a rip off and not right My husband however, had the prawn linguine- cost $27 Which was delicious and very great value They just , big time, need to lift their game on the pumpkin salad We did have drinks as well

Mmm bit disappointed. We came in a bit late, 9:30pm. And the food was ok, not the quality you would expect for the price we paid tasted a bit like a servo sandwich with chips that were almost too crispy like the had been cooked to an inch of their lives. But the waitress literally dropped the food on the table and left without a word. We have worked every weekend since we been in Darwin, wish we went somewhere else for our first Saturday on the town.
