Sands Hotel

I don’t come here often, but whenever I do, the meals are consistently cooked properly — sometimes a little overcooked or "cremated," but honestly I prefer that over what’s happening at your cousin venue, the Fountain Gate Hotel. They’re currently undercooking almost everything. The undercooked pink chicken parma mentioned in another review actually sounds far more like Fountain Gate than The Sands. I was recently served three undercooked meals there: a pink pork cutlet that came out in 15 minutes, a chicken schnitzel in 14 minutes that wasn’t cooked through at the end, and a nine-minute steak that was still undercooked in the middle. I came here yesterday because I knew the food would be safe and properly cooked. Even slightly overdone is better than playing raw-roulette. My seafood linguine — one of your new menu items — was cooked through and tasted great.(pic 1) Some of the staff can be a little snobbish or come across rude at times, but overall the food quality here is far more reliable compared to Fountain Gate Hotel at the moment. The other photos I included are from Fountain Gate, showing how everything looked fine on the outside but was raw inside. Casey Council amusingly classified it as a "presentation issue," which definitely wasn’t the case.

We had a very large party for a birthday and the staff were amazing. We were well looked after and the service and food was excellent. Highly recommend

Turns out the pool table needs a charge these days — who knew? Guess we’ll have to wait for it to hit 100% before a game. At least the pokie machine was feeling energetic 😂 pretty bad experience overall

On Thursday 15th September 2022 - Friday 16th September 2022 I went to Sands Hotel - Carrum downs. As I walked in Jennine smiled at me and I said Hello and told her I was going to my room. The customer service is always perfect. The queen room and the facilities were amazing. It was clean. The shower head was huge and it was spacious inside too. Bed was comfortable and supportive. When I was leaving I met Erin and told her how much I enjoyed staying there. I would love to come back again. She was very welcoming and encouraged us to return again. Amazing. Thank you 😀 On Wednesday 7th September 2022. I went to the Sands Hotel - Carrum downs. I ordered the Southern Fried Burger, Chicken Parma and Lemon, Lime Bitters. I was looked after by Lea and she makes the best drinks and has amazing customer service as well. I can’t wait to return for lunch again. Thank you 😀

We love eating here on Fridays or Saturdays. Because the food variety is so good we study the menu. But always resort to ordering serveral entrees. Everything you see in the photo is absolutely mouth watering . Sometimes we order one more because it’s never to filling just right. We recommend to everyone

We didn't book, they were busy but accommodated us in the hotel breakfast room off the main room. I had a burger which was decent. They forgot to bring my beer until prompted but got it quickly after that in time to have it with the food. Others on the table had seafood platter, steak and Texas Parma. Everyone thought their food was nice. Service wasn't quick but nor was it slow.

Dined in the function room - absolutely delicious meals - very friendly staff. Air con way too high (but not sure if anyone asked to turn it down so no dissing). Great for any function.
