DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cairns

The services was very good and locations is central . The pool was really good and the excellent ocean view from my bedrooms. The rooms was very big and nice comfy bed .The breakfast was need more variety in breakfast sections. I’m really happy and will come back next trips .

We had a great family stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Cairns. The location is super convenient—close to the Esplanade, shops, and places to eat, which made everything easy with kids. The room was clean and comfortable, and the beds were great after long days out. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the warm cookie on arrival was a nice touch. The pool was a hit with the kids. Overall, a comfortable and stress-free stay—we’d happily come back!

The hotel is very clean with great amenities!! Gym, pool etc..The rooms were very spacious and clean. We had 2xdouble beds and still had lots of room. The room itself included a safe, fridge, ironing board, iron and hairdryer. It also had robes and slippers. It is very close to all areas including Marina.|Excellent very friendly and polite staff!!

Small bathroom, but the beds were comfortable and you couldn't hear the traffic, except in rare occasions. Room was an okay size. We enjoyed the don't get your room cleaned and have a free drink for everyone at the pool!

Hotel location is on the Esplanade within walking distance to restos, markets and the reef terminal. Hotel pool is nice, overlooking the water. Staff gave us cookies and wine. The room we got (guest king) was on the second floor with a partial view of the water. Room was quite basic, small size but clean.

Amazing staff!! Very friendly and helpful. Saw personally to our every request to ensure we were satisfied. Excellent location!! Beautiful, clean, well maintained property. 5 stars in all categories

We booked the hotel just for a 1 night stay for our family, during our travel stopover. I initially booked Rydges but then changed for Hilton thinking it would be a better choice. It was quite disappointing. Our room although ok in layout and a nice view, had a horrrible damp smell and the smell coming out of the aircon vent was even worse. 🤢🥴 What more breakfast was most frustrating. The scrambled eggs ran out and didn’t get replenished for over 30min! We asked repeatedly different staff who were just hopeless. We wouldnt have been bothered had there been another egg station for fried or poached eggs but there wasn’t. They had an Omelette section, made in waffle tins, operated by 1 lady, who was super slow and each omelette took 10min to be cooked! Line was 10+ deep and hardly moving. We gave up and had no eggs at breakfast (what should have been a basic staple provision) - this should not be the case in a 4+ star hotel. It just looked like the whole restaurant organisation was poorly managed. I expected the basics to be better and wish we went somewhere else.
