The Small Plates / Entrees were much better than the mains. The dip was especially tasty with the spices, so were the croquettes. Charcuterie and haloumi were standard and nothing to fault. Calamari is tender, however just a tad overcooked (not rubbery, it is still tasty but a little heavy on the salt). The chicken was overcooked, however the accompanying dressing was amazing so kinda makeup for it. Dessert was a great combination of sweetness and tangy twist, although too sweet for me, it was delicious to not finish (tiny portion but was sufficient as we had the $69pp set meal). Beer Garden needs more lighting and heating. Music would be good as we were mainly entertained by the music from the Mexican restaurant across 1915. Staffs were amazing, they put the woodfire on even though there were just our table outdoor. Indoor ambient is modern warehouse converted with relaxing lighting.
We ordered the $69 set. The entree was very good and definitely the highlight of the meal. However, the mains were disappointing. The seasoning was too salty and the ingredients did not feel very fresh. Dessert was average, nothing particularly memorable. The portions were very generous and most women would probably find it hard to finish. The atmosphere and setting are beautiful, with a great view and very photogenic dishes.
From the moment I met Chelsea, the Event Manager at 1915, she was an absolute pleasure to work with. Every single request I had, she was able to accommodate and bring to life. Truly making all of my wedding dreams come true. Her professionalism, warmth, and attention to detail made the entire planning process feel seamless and exciting. We just wanted to share a heartfelt thank you to Chelsea and the entire 1915 team for such an incredible night. Everything truly exceeded our expectations. The food was amazing, the drinks were perfect, and the dessert buffet was an absolute highlight. From start to finish, the team were so helpful, accommodating, and professional, which made the whole evening run so smoothly and allowed us to truly relax and enjoy every moment. We felt so well looked after, and it honestly made our wedding night even more special. We are so grateful for the care, effort, and attention to detail that went into making our celebration so memorable.
10 out of 10 Beautiful venue, great menu, almost each item is gluten-free, fantastic service, decent servings and the food was reasonably priced and delicious. We ordered all small sizes the calamari, lamb ribs, pork belly, croquettes, harissa chicken.. (so much food that we needed a doggy bag). We aren't locals but with better back.and will recommend to others.
Now, everyone knows the struggle of securing a last minute booking on Valentine's Day and having been to 1915 before, I knew it was on the call list. 6pm on the day (yes I know, poor management on my behalf haha) and here I am trying to make a booking for myself, Pop and son. Initially, I was told there were no bookings and the staff were very kind and empathetic to my situation. 10 minutes later, I receive a call from the restaurant manager, she heard my plea and worked her magic. We had a booking! As a sober person, finding a good virgin Margarita is difficult, but the staff nailed it. The food, as always was simply Devine.. don't miss out on this one! The atmosphere and aesthetic of the building is one of Geelong's finest.
We are a family of four who eat out quite often, as we hardly cook at home anymore, so we do appreciate good food and quality when dining out. The pork dish had a really delicious sauce — it was full of flavour and very enjoyable. However, the pork itself was quite hard, which made it difficult to eat and less enjoyable overall. If the pork had been a little softer and more tender, it would have been perfect. Customer service is excellent . We hope this feedback helps, as the flavours were truly lovely.
We were catching the Spirit of Tasmania and decided to pop in for a late lunch early dinner before we board the boat. We ordered the Roasted Cauliflower Steak, Roast pumpkin salad, Crisy chat potatoes, Fire Roasted carrots all washed down with a glass of red wine. Wow wow wow the best vegetarian feed my husband and I have had in a very long time eating out. Prices very reasonable, great service, lovely place to dine. Will be back.
