Master Chang’s Bakery

Birthday cakes for our whole family are ordered from this bakery and we are never disappointed. The mango cake was covered in slithers of sweet, fresh mango, the cream is always fresh and the sponge is soft and airy, most importantly it's great value for money for a freshly made cake, (not frozen and thawed for sale like other shop cakes).

I really like the cake– great value for money and super tasty. The location is also very convenient.

Decided to drop into Master Chang's bakery for some curry puffs. First thing I noticed is that the bakery has lots of choices of baked goods from Asian cakes / rolls, pies, puffs, paos, tarts and biscuits. If you want a single place with Asian baked goods you will pretty much find it there. I like how they have birthday accessories so that if purchasing a cake that you have a "one stop" shop with candles, cake toppers etc. We bought the chicken pies, curry puffs and apple pies. The pastry for the baked items tasted fresh, beautifully flaky and light. Colours are golden brown so they looked very well cooked. I am a fan now and will be back to try other baked items.

I regularly buy roll cakes from here and usually have no issues. However, yesterday I tried buy the pandan chiffon cake and it was not fresh. My 5yo only had one bite and my husband ate half of the whole cake, both of them later had bad diarrhoea. I tried one bite this morning and it tasted sour, which confirmed it wasn’t fresh!! Maybe because of the Christmas holiday, the cakes are not made fresh every day, but this is concerning, especially when it affects a child’s health.

I can't believe how yum it is! And the price is amazing 🩷 I'm literally shocked that anyone would put less than 5, that is WILD!! This place is so good, I am going today again... 3 days in a row 😋🩷

The price for egg tarts has increase from $2 to $2.50 but the egg filling is getting lesser. Its just mainly eating pastry. Its quite significant to increase $0.50 each egg tart I am expecting it should at least remains the same quality. Very disappointing this will be the last time we visit the bakery.

Tried most of the pastries & a few of their cakes. I must say they are pleasantly tasty & good. Price is set reasonably for the quality of food they provided. Highly recommended and you will not regret. Unfortunately, their Durian puffs are a big let down (the durian fillings are pretty flavoursome but the pastry is the issue). Maybe i expected too much as I'm a durian lover and knowing they are available for sale ONLY on Saturdays (scarcity!). What's more!? It costs $7 for 2 durian puffs! But it doesn't taste good enough to render that kind of awaiting & pricing. Hence I dropped the 5 star rating to 4 star recently due to the above. However in all fairness, their other food products are still worthwhile to buy and try.
