The Twisted Loaf

A great little bakery with plenty to choose from and everything I've ever tried has been delicious 😋 (Especially the jalapeno sausage roll 🤤) I also really love their fresh bread, which lasts much longer on my kitchen bench than any other bread I've ever bought and it's taste so fresh and soft 👍 The staff are friendly and they even still offer the 'hole punch card' where you can spend over $10 and get your card punched and eventually get a free loaf of bread. They do coffee (which I haven't tried yet) and make salad rolls to order but I've also enjoyed the pre-made salad rolls so much too. It's corner store bakery vibes with all the yummy goods 👏👏👏

Concerned about food safety? Then don’t go to the twisted loaf, have a look at the kitchen and under the benches….better yet check out the fridges, cross contamination of foods, cockroaches and flies, uncleaned vents, money handling and then touching food, face, pens, no hair nets or gloves worn, terrible looking display cabinets. I wonder why they go through staff……? I even witnessed a staff member swearing during conversations with a customer ‘telling a story’ while kids were waiting to be served. Very unprofessional, perhaps an audit is in order?

Chunky pepper steak pie and tasty coffee. True to the description there were chunks of tender meat and the layer of cracked pepper on top was perfect. Friendly staff gave us their key so we could access the shopping centre toilets.

Great pies and sausage rolls sandwiches are freshly made and staff are very helpful

The Mr Pie was delicious, though I would have expected (and have had) better when paying $14.40 for a can of drink and a pie that was on the smaller side of average size. I don't mind paying extra for quality, but the prices here seem greedy.

Tried the cream bun, the bun (hot dog roll?) was old, stale, and had to thrown out. Never tried anything else, so I can't comment. Staff were friendly, though. Unfortunately, it would be difficult to go back. This used to be one of the best bakery's in Toowoomba but has slipped.
