📍 Wedding bakeries in Adelaide

4.3

Providore Central Markets is a bustling bakery located within the Adelaide Central Market, offering a wide range of sweet treats and pastries. The establishment is known for its personalised cookies, which are praised for their variety and intricate details. However, some of their offerings, such as the lemon curd tart and Wagon Wheel, have received mixed reviews regarding freshness and flavor.

While the ginger bread and other pastries like the pistachio creme-filled croissant wheel and Snickers canoli have been noted for their unique tastes, there are occasional criticisms about the balance of sweetness and filling. Despite these points, the bakery remains a popular choice for those seeking a quick snack or dessert.

Just like some of the reviews, I question how fresh the products are. One can assume that a bakery has freshly made products each day. I recommend double checking when the cakes your interested in were actually baked. As I don't live locally, I decided to try the Wagon Wheel, which would be easy to take home in my backpack. These cost $6 - a bit price I thought when compared to the pricing of cake slices. When I ate half of it, I was rather disappointed in the flavour and the amount of filling. It also didn't taste very fresh.

Super busy bakery in the middle of the Adelaide Central Market. The lemon curd tart was quite average unfortunately. The tart shell was not buttery, had little flavour, and too thick. Lemon curd was quite jammy, a tad too sweet and not lemony enough.

Great snack/dessert/sweet stall! Their ginger bread is really nice. I’m not a fan of a ginger bread but this one still has the distinct ginger-taste and very subtle. Other sweets are nice too. For me, the pistachio creme-filled croissant wheel, one side is too sweet, the other side has not much fillings. Snickers canoli was nice and creamy. Ginger bread 40 pcs $14 Pistachio creme-filled croissant wheel $7.50 Snickers Canoli $6 (Picture of the food bought was taken at home)

Providore Central Markets is a beautiful bakery! My husband and I stumbled upon it while window shopping on a date night, and I instantly fell in love with their personalised cookies. The variety and detail are incredible, and at $7, the price is very reasonable considering the effort that goes into these little works of art. As someone who has decorated cookies for children's parties, I can really appreciate the craftsmanship. I picked out a Pikachu and a Minion for my kids -they're going to be over the moon! I also tried the pistachio ricotta cannoli, which was perfect as a light, not overly sweet dessert, while my husband happily demolished three desserts all to himself with the ferro cheesecake being his favourite! The only downside was seating - it was a bit scarce, and we had to find a separate café nearby. But overall, a fantastic experience, and I can't wait to bring my kids back to pick out more cookies. I'd love to see more options in the mini cookie range - maybe some Ninja Turtles or other fun surprises!

I feel very disappointed with my experience and ought to have checked my purchase while still at the shop. I was asked by the first staff member twice what I was wanting. "One piece of Tiramisu slice and a Chocolate eclair, please". The staff member did not understand me and deflected to her senior colleage who asked me again what I asked for. Speaking clearly once again I asked for a piece of Tiramisu slice and a chocolate eclair. He mentioned that it came with vanilla cream on the inside. "Yes", I acknowledged - Choux pastry, creme patisserie (usually flavoured with some vanilla), chocolate on top... I have arrived at my, destination with a Cannoli, which sounds nothing like Chocolate Eclair.

2 stars just for the honey cake - which was decent. Portuguese egg tart was undercooked inside - could see and taste the "dough". Kindly informed staff about it but was told that "it’s how it is".

I was there for the gelati for grandson and he struggled to choose and the server was patient and he got a big serve. It was very difficult because they were so good , was his view. And the price was reasonable , very reasonable for the serve. And they have a chocolate fountain.
