Travellers Castle

Our best experience in 1 year of travel in Australia. My boyfriend and I stayed 4 months at the Castle. It's a really clean place, close to everything (bus, free city pool, restaurants, bars and markets) and perfectly equipped. In the rooms: Air conditioning, fan, storage, fridge, TV and comfortable bedding. In the residence: swimming pool, washing machine, dryer, large outdoor area, several pitches with tables, chairs and beautiful tropical plants. More than a beautiful and comfortable location, a magnificent human experience. The castle is a cosmopolitan place perfect for meeting people. You can meet real Australians and people from all horizons, South America, Asia, Europe ... Etc. The managers are exceptional, always ready to listen and ready to help you in any situation.

I stayed here for just under a year and the whole time there was nothing but arguments a guy lives there who bashed the men and woman. There is also another guy who lives there who tried to kick my door in. The male manger is nice I must say but the woman manager is a nasty piece of work and a lier she pockets ur money. The owners refuse to pay back my $500 bond and because the female manager pocketed $50 apparently I only paid them $450 when I paid $250 2 times worst place to stay in cairns I swear it's worse then cairns villa and leisure park and that's saying something

Stayed at the Castle for a few months, I would have to say that the place is kept immaculately clean in all areas. The Management team run a very safe, controlled environment and were very accommodating on my arrival and throughout my stay! if advice on the area is what you need all you need to do is ask and they will point you in the right direction to further enjoy your stay. Met a lot of great people during my stay at the Castle in which I still keep in contact with on a regular basis. Highly recommend the Castle for a short or long term stay! Me and my partner have stayed here multiple times and I’ve enjoyed them all! The 2 managers deserve an extra star for being no less then champions. The rooms are clean and the appartements are exactly what you hope them to be, equipped with tv, good air conditioning and comfortable bed. There are multiple relax spots on the premises where you hopefully meet as much wonderful people as we did. DEFINITELY go for a nice swim in the clean (thanks Ian) pool ON SITE!! Long term or short this Castle has you sorted. Go for a barbie on the esplanade with Maurs and wine and you’ll have the best night. Keep it up legends.

The community here is fantastic. Not everyone knows one another, but everyone takes care of one another. I was here during the high point of covid19, unable to return to the US and everyone welcomed me in. The rooms and apartments have everything you need, nothing fancy, but everything so you can be comfortable. I loved the courtyard, every morning was so nice to sit out there and have coffee! The owner is full of stories and will gladly sit with you, have a smoke, and make you laugh. Another long time resident Maus, is as sweet as they come. I’ve never met someone so willing to care for others, and she cracks jokes all day. She holds the community together. I would gladly return to stay here in Cairns. I left with wonderful memories and new friends!

My husband and I stayed in Traveller's Castle over the December holiday for two weeks and thought it was very neat and clean. We had more than enough space and all the utensils and TV, WI FI, white ware was in good working order. I absolutely loved the beautiful clean pool and swam twice a day. Phyllis was very caring and kind and fetched us from the airport and took us back. She walked the extra mile and supported us with any problem we had. Thanks again for the lovely stay. Very nice place with its own character. The owner is a nice old lady and I had stayed in this places for several times. Now it is my Cairns "home" 🙂 walk distance to the public pool and city center. Not far from the bus stop either.
