Such a good hostel!! The staff are so friendly and welcoming, always help you if its anything you need. It's social and easy to make new friends with the common areas. The kitchen and the dorms are clean and the bar is really nice with many options. I have no complains. I would recommend this hostel to everyone who visits Cairns.

I really liked this hostel. Very very safe, great location and the rooms were good too. Great value! And perfect for budget travelling. There is a kitchen where you can cook and keep your food both in the fridge and outside. I haven't experienced people taken other people's food, but it could happen, depending on the people staying in the hostel at the same time as you.

Mad Monkey Jungle had the perfect mix between a social party atmosphere and a place where you could relax if you wanted. The staff were also amazing, helping out wherever and whenever they can. The rooms and bathrooms were spacious and provided what is needed for a comfortable stay. Finally, the facilities offered were one of the best that a hostel in Cairns has to offer, from a resort style pool, to billiards and table tennis, to a large kitchen, and a lively bar, and even a tour agency!

This hostel is well located and the staff was friendly. However, if you wish to relax and chill you may think of a different venue. There is music the whole day, if you wish to sleep early, you absolutely need earplugs. Music was too loud for me; even at the bar upstairs it was difficult to talk and hear what the other person was saying. Rooms were not really clean but this depends a lot on your roommates. Basically, if you wish to relax, don’t come here otherwise it is ok

Such a fun hostel to stay at, they have stuff going on almost every single night. Did not have to worry about meeting people and making friends at all. The staff is also really fun and engaging 👌 just good vibes all around!

Overall we really liked the hostel! The kitchen and the bathrooms are very clean and the shared spaces are nice and cosy. They also offered us a free barbeque! Despite being refurished, the furniture and equipment of the rooms could be enhanced. HOWEVER, the staff was very unfreindly, in particular me and my friends had a rather unpleasant experience with a french girl called Emma; she was rude, supposive and overall not friendly at all when we were asking her to explain us the hostel's rule and functioning... which is supposed to be her job! I believe that this speaks to basic requirments for someone that works in hospitality and frankly if you are unable to show empathy towards young travellers, perhaps this job is not for you!

Best Hostel for Meeting People and Having Fun!||I had an amazing time staying at Mad Monkey Jungle! From the moment I arrived, I could tell this was a place where socializing was a top priority. The common areas were always buzzing with energy, and it was super easy to meet fellow travelers. Whether it was sharing a meal in the kitchen, hanging out in the lounge, or joining the nightly events (shoutout to the pub crawls!), there was always something fun happening.
