I was really disappointed with my experience at Matte & Shimmer. Even though I specifically asked for a feature-enhancing look, the artist completely ignored my input. She went with a style that was way too heavy and over the top, which wasn't what I wanted at all. It felt like she was doing the makeup she liked, rather than what I asked forThe makeup felt plastered on. I wanted to look like a polished version of myself, but the artist chose a style that was so heavy-handed it didn't look like skin anymore

I recently got my makeup done and it was so stunning. This was my second time getting makeup done in my whole life and my first time was way too heavy at a hair salon in altona for my last formal (mind u im in year 12 right now). This year, I came to matte and shimmer make-up studio; based on the close location and perfect reviews, and now i see why. I am not a makeup person but she did the makeup so well as it suited my face perfectly and was not too heavy. For my second time wearing makeup, I wish I came to her for my first, but now I know about this studio and what she does, I will definitely be coming here very soon and frequently for various beauty must-haves. I wholeheartedly recommend this salon for all your hair and beauty essentials -she will have you feeling pampered and confident in such a comfortable and welcoming environment.
