Match My Makeup

I love Match My Makeup, so easy to use when finding my colour across different brands and even brands I wouldn’t even have considered before! It’s not just the colour matching but the helpful notes that come with each of the matches to give you additional info about that foundation. I’m now confident buying online having never seen the matched brands/colour in person and can’t rave about this enough!

I love Match my Makeup! I have used them recently as with the pandemic as I couldn't go into a shop so I searched up my shade in Nars and they matched it perfectly on their database with my shade in MAC. It saved me so much time and was literally a perfect match...can't remember the enough!

The shade finder tool was easy to use, and the color matching produced accurate results for me - it even lets you know if the shade will lean pinker or more yellow if it can't find an exact match.. very pleased that this exists!

I don't usually leave reviews but I felt like in this case I had to. Before lockdown, I never loved the idea of going to a make up store and having them try on 5+ different foundations on my face, go on with my day and feel like I need to wash my face every minute after that. A friend referred me to Match my Makeup and OMG it's the best tool ever. I was not only able to have them match my exact foundation online, I was able to actually purchase it direct from their online store. This free online tool is great for matching a shade from an existing product. They just need to continue to tweak the questionnaire for finding a shade from scratch because it's so not quite there yet. I used the tool to find a new shade from scratch because I haven't seen the sun for 2 years since lockdown and it missed it by a shade or 2. To be fair, the final matching result depends on the user's answers, phone camera quality and lighting situation So my "perception" of what I think my skin does and looks like seems to be different to what it might really be. The user should to take into account the "time" of year they're in while taking the quiz - my winter skin is paler but I was answering the questions like it was summer coz it asked about sun exposure - so i ended up with a darker colour. In retrospect, I needed to be more conservative in answering about how my skin reacts to the sun in winter, if at all. So, I would use the tool for switching a product with the same colour coz it's an exact match, but for a new colour, I would still go into the stores to try out for the time being.

Such a clever concept! My go-to foundation shade was discontinued a couple of years ago. Lots of trips to the beauty section and lots of $$$ later, I never got it quite right. After recently discovering MMM, I am finally happy and confident in my new foundation. Thank you MMM!

I find the website a very useful tool for matching foundation makeup. I was actually surprised after taking the quiz that the results were so accurate! Very good site and user friendly.
