A cool local indy supermarket which has an 80 vibe to it which I really like, good deals and their meat selection is great. Also, one of few places in the area you can get yellow cling peaches. My only gripe is their sliced deli meats, I'm not sure how they store it but even refrigerated it seems to go off super fast.
I went in today and bought a few things using a gift card. Another employee came running over to snatch a copy of my receipt. So because I've used a gift card that gives you the excuse to treat me like a criminal? My husband and I are both professionals who work in the west, this type of behaviour was completely uncalled for.
I always hear complaints about younger staff in retail, but today proved that professionalism isn’t about age - it’s about attitude. While walking through the store, I passed two staff members in one aisle loudly gossiping. Further down, another two staff members were doing the same. All of them appeared to be senior staff members, not juniors. Meanwhile, at the registers, two employees were clearly overwhelmed as the line continued to grow. Repeated calls over the microphone for "POS front desk assistance" went unanswered. At one point, one of the staff members on the floor loudly responded, "I don’t know who you’re going to get, no one here is on POS." That was disappointing to hear as a customer standing there watching the situation unfold. There were multiple staff on the floor who could have stepped in briefly to support their colleagues. Instead, the two at the front were left visibly stressed - yet they remained kind, professional, and apologetic. Retail roles shouldn’t be treated as rigid job titles when customers are waiting. Teamwork matters. The two women serving at the counter handled themselves with professionalism under pressure. The rest of what I witnessed felt poorly managed and unprofessional. I hope management reviews how floor support is handled during peak times.
I love our little IGA, it has everything I need. Its always clean inside and the staff are great. The only thing that bugs me is the outside appearance, its pretty bad, but so are other supermarkets.
I know that all the reviews of the drive thru are lies. Why? Well numerous times, I’ve asked Werribee’s sims for coke. what has happened each time, I’ve been treated like trash. I’ve been a customer of sims for 12 yrs and to be treated like this for coke each time is crap. I’ve been lied to, sworn at, accused of wanted to steal, and that’s why I’m asking for an item that they didn’t restocked?! Told that they are a seperate entity, even thought the staff are hired by the same place, get their pay cheques from the same company, when they need liquor go inside to restock but bugger the coke…. It may sound petty but I count customer service above all. I won’t be going back to Werribee’s sims. On a bright note werribee place drive thru were welcoming, provided a box for the coke. Even if they aren’t attached to a store front the bottle-o, they had fully stocked shelves ready to service their customers.
😃 With some 👍feedback from firends .. I've started shopping here 👍 ( Due to go into a Woolies 😬 That had a FACE RECOGNITION Recording 😡 ) ✅️ They have what I need ✅️ It is a little more, Expensive 🤔 However .. They also have Weekly Specials 👍 I much rather Support them, Than the likes of Woolies 👎 Found something to hang on the tree 😃 And, some Xmas, 🎅 loo paper too 🤣
Great local supermarket! 🛒 I really like shopping at IGA Werribee — it’s always clean, well-organized. The products are fresh, especially the fruits and bakery section. Prices are expensive
