Scoffin's Clocks & Watches

Took 2 wall clocks in for new quartz movements. $75 each he charged me- total $150. Excuses after excuses each time I rang up inquiring when would they be ready. After 9 weeks Rowan Scoffin told me only one was done. I went in to pick it up and asked for my other clock back of which he gave me, though missing its hands and other smaller parts. He told me Spotlight sells the movements! Hopeless. His breath reeked of alcohol. I felt sorry for the customers before me who handed over two watches of sentimental value to be fixed. I laughed when I heard him say "Ill ring you as soon as they're ready". When you read the long list of bad reviews and dissatisfied customers, that could be the last they see of sentimental watches. DO NOT GIVE THIS PERSON YOUR BUSINESS, HE IS A JOKE AND SHOULD BE RUN OUT OF TOWN.

Dropped a watch off with a cracked glass loose hinge mechanism and flat battery. Was quoted $120, paid a $60 deposit. 58 days later I walk into the store and ask what hell is going on for him to immediately pull the watch out of of his "to call shelf" and apologise for being "busy" Glass was not even touched, hinge was fixed in front of me and the battery was the only thing that done in those 58 days. When I asked for my money back he said he would do a bank transfer, it’s been 2 weeks and after several phone calls I doubt I will see my $40 refund. Stick to a reputable watch repairer.

Please do not do deal with these guys. If you read their history, they are a bunch of rip off artists that should not still be in business. Took my Tudor for a service and paid $750. What they did to my watch was horrific. I’ve since sent my watch to a reputable horologist and he was mortified what was done internally. This is months later and I’m still waiting for my original crown, which they replaced with a service crown. The dial feet were cut off and the dial glued to the movement. The missing dial feet do not line up with the movement. They’ve destroyed my dial and it has to be replaced. These vintage dials are almost impossible to find and it’s going to cost me thousands of dollars to restore my watch, which I got for my 21st birthday in 1979. My watch had never lost time and had once been serviced in 2008. After I got it back from these guys it lost significant time every day. When I approached them about resolving all of my issues I was told there is no way I’d get any kind of refund. This has been a very expensive lesson for me. Don’t even trust them with changing your battery. If I could give them lower than a 1 star rating I’d give them a zero. DO NOT LET IT HAPPEN TO YOU. DON’T GO ANYWHERE NEAR THIS STORE. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.

Things might have been slow but the owner always did the right thing for me and did he's best to solve any problems that arouse as most were out of he's control . Andy

Guess what still haven’t got my clock it’s been over 2 years now and they still have my money, great way to get money without trying. This business repaired my mother’s watch cost $300 and would you believe it it doesn’t work. Also they have had my clock for over 2 years they won’t answer my calls or anything regarding this clock. This business is a fraud. Don’t go near it.

Attention SUSAN TAYLOR. Customer came in to collect clock off her face, yelling that it wasn't working. Customer was informed she needed a KEY to wind which she didn't have. Clock was serviced and was working. She states she was assaulted which is NOT true, we have cameras to verify this. Customer launched herself over the counter and grabbed the clock damaging property in doing so. Did not pay the $200!!!!!! Apparently the clock was bought at an op shop for $5!!!!

Had a problem with a slowing 8 year old automatic Tag Heuer watch, did some research. Rowen knew instantly problem, ordered part overnight and was back on my wrist within the week. Was cleaned at no cost and cost was less than quote for same repairs at Brisbane Tag Heuer. Very good local service.
