The collection features an impressive array of opals, including white, black, and fiery red-tinted multi-colored stones. You'll also get to see opalized fossils, including dinosaurs, which is a real treat. While it's a retail store, there's no pressure to buy, and the staff are happy to let you browse and learn. I highly recommend visiting the National Opal Collection if you're in Melbourne - it's a unique and fascinating experience

Very friendly folks with lots of knowledge on opals. Found a very nice ring for a good price. With a short time frame, they were able get one of the guys to come in off vacation to size it the next day. Very happy with the whole transaction.
