Freemasons Hotel

📍 Jewelers in Geraldton

7.3

The Freemasons Hotel in Geraldton is a heritage building that offers a unique dining experience. While the atmosphere may be somewhat dated, the establishment compensates with a selection of craft beers on tap, including the popular Stone & Wood. The service is generally attentive, and the staff are known for their efforts to accommodate dietary restrictions, such as providing a gluten-free menu.

However, the hotel's ambiance and cleanliness could benefit from improvement. Some visitors have noted the need for better maintenance, particularly in terms of cleanliness and air conditioning. Despite these drawbacks, the Freemasons Hotel remains a notable spot for its historical significance and occasional culinary highlights, making it a place worth considering for a visit.

I've only been here for a drink but I've had food before and it's not good, suffice to say this place is very, very depressing, grimy and dirty the carpet smells of piss and stained beer. (Who's genius idea was it to put carpet over the floor boards?! I mean come on!🤨🙄) The only redeeming qualities is it's a heritage building and has Stone & Wood on tap. Your soul leaves your body when you realise the glasses smell like stale beer which in turn makes the beer taste weird... So I paid $15.00 for a pint glass that smelt weird and beer that didn't taste good... I couldn't even finish it. (Which is extremely rare for me.) The place is a quite run down and dingy which is sad, it's not busy anymore, not like it used to be 10-15 about years ago when the food was good back then. I've never stayed in the rooms, but I do hear they are haunted by the ghosts of previous alcoholics. 😆 So... Yeah... It's a total dive. Definitely a miss for me.

We went for dinner in 2010 and it was fantastic. We went last Monday and it awful. Rancid scallops, which were frozen and definitely not fresh as we asked the kitchen. Main staff were great, got a refund and they were trying their best. However on arrival no welcome smile by servers or any kind of customer service |Never going back

Had dinner there, don't think it's a chef cooking there,I think it's just a very bad cook....crispy pork belly had no flavour, the rice was cluggy but the Asian greens was nice. My partner wanted a medium rare steak it was crucified close to being burnt. A friend ordered fish of the day very small supposed to be Red empreior and had bones in it. The service was not friendly. I've been here a few times and never had a problem at all with food or service. Hopefully they get a better cook and staff otherwise they will have to close their doors

Catered for a late request for a large table of 12 Enough floor space to move freely Service on point and considerably quite time for amount of food ordered Quality food especially the wings and its partnered wings dipping sauce. Pork bites are something to considered when visiting. On a note that was not pleasant smell either coming from the carpet or a hallway inside building that lead to a toilets some 20metres away

Great food and friendly staff. Lots of gluten free options when you ask for the GF menu. The kitchen understands coeliac disease. Meal gets cooked seperately and they make adjustments of needed. It can take a bit longer but it's delicious and safe.

I had the ribs on the barbie and it was very delicious. My friend had the steak and said it was also very good. The restaurant has a gf menu and are very attentive to gluten issues, I ordered chips, but since they don’t have a dedicated frier they asked if I wanted oven baked ones or no. Even oven baked it tasted quite good. Many many gf options, I highly recommend this restaurant, will definitely be going again in the future.
