Browns Jewellers

I’ve had nothing but good experiences with Browns from repairs to watch batteries. The staff are pleasant and knowledgeable. I’m not after the cheapest price but rather the best result.

Quoted me $79 to resize a ring (smaller). Also told me it would be over a week to get it done. Tried to negotiate to $50 and was rejected . Got it done at a gold shop on Sydney road in around 30 mins, and they only charged me around $32. Too big of a difference to not leave a review. Edit : It was much less of a drive to get it done with you guys. I didn't say I got quoted $50, I asked you if you could do it for $50 and you declined. Also, the business that I went to has 4x the google reviews you have which suggests that their business has more traffic in this day of age. Conclusion, your pricing is unreasonable and the time it takes to resize rings is over a week compared with 30 minutes. My ring got resized today compared with next Wednesday had I gone with you guys.

I had my engagement ring transformed into a new piece by the lovely jeweller who was meticulous about making it and ensuring I was happy with it. highly recommend.

Very disappointing service. Inherited ring, stone had fallen out, 5 months later and several phone calls to ask what is happening with ring. I forgot to pick up when ready after another 2 months I finally picked up my ring. It's no wonder I didn't receive a phone to remind me the ring was ready, absolutely devastating. $295 later, I now need to find a reputable jeweller to fix. If you can't do the job, SAY NO THANKS. YOU HAVE TRULY DESTROYED A valuable piece close to heart. Totally different ring, when I picked up the ring i mentioned the stone was not sitting flat as previously, the lady agreed with me. I will come into the store to discuss, this platform is for other consumers to be aware that sometimes a long time business is not what it seems. You may do other fabulous work but I am unable to wear this.

I had a very old watch that needed repairing & I wasn't sure if Browns could help. They couldn't access the spare parts & so it was unrepairable. But I managed to get a nice replacement watch from them, which I am very happy with. Brown's had a good selection of reasonably priced watches to choose from. Sometimes you just need a good local jeweller/watchmaker.

I just purchased an engagement ring for our upcoming engagement and future wedding. I was able to get what we needed, and at the right price. The good thing. I was able to trade in some old jewellery towards the purchased price. Which I found was helpful.

After keeping my bracelet for over month for a repair quote... the owner calls back and brushes me aside not wanting to take on the job, complaining it's too worn and fixing it could be well over $80. It's a simple solder job! I landed up getting it fixed quickly and promptly for $35 at a jeweller in Mont Albert. I just wished I didn't waste my time heading to Browns in the first place. The front desk workers are friendly and lovely though but the owner is really rude and unhelpful.
