Magpies Waitara

Food excellent. We ordered Chinese. Went to the counter to order something else, the girl who served us earlier was no where in sight, after around 10 minutes she resurfaced, when asked where were you, she replied I was talking to my friends ( happened to be some Chinese customers) I saw her. I said customer comes first. Not a GOOD IMPRESSION

What’s happened here? I was pretty disappointed with the food. The salad was completely flavourless, with maybe two or three slivers of sun-dried tomato. The meat was okay, but the wrap itself was very bland. For a $38 dish, there really wasn’t much flavour at all — especially when the only part that actually tasted good was the two small lamb skewers. Service was also an issue. We were interrupted every 15 minutes with "Can I take this away?", including staff reaching between two people just to grab a single glass. During the one hour we were there eating, the same waitress interrupted us twice, plus two other waitresses at different times. For me, that was excessive and took away from the experience. Hopefully next time might be a better experience, but won't be rushing back anytime soon.

Nice place to meet up with friends or family with plenty of areas to sit and nice food options. Lamb skewer was 😋

First time at Magpies was for the Super Bowl. The beers were good value and I was initially impressed to see American-style hotdogs and wings on offer. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives ended. The food quality was extremely poor and lacked any care or pride in preparation. It felt rushed, cheap and poorly executed. Very disappointing experience overall.

Small in size but more than makes up for it in terms of facilities. A bit like Dr Who’s TARDIS it seems to be bigger on the inside, with a choice of eating and drinking spaces, as well as the newer Garden area that is outdoors and a nice spot to enjoy a quiet drink. Conveniently located directly opposite Waitara station so there’s no need to drive.

Great club, staff always friendly. Huge range of food options (menu is almost too big...! Can choose between Western and Asian kitchens), and really reasonable prices for drinks. A great place to meet up with friends for a casual get-together.

On top of that,we were in the line for 20 minutes and we waited 45 minutes for the food to be served, only to be deeply disappointed by the quality." The kids burger was overcooked, and burnt, excessively toasted bread. The chips were fried to an excessive degree they were like a stone! The schnitzel was also overcooked, and I had to remove the outer layer, only eating the inside, The salad was not fresh, no dressing so I didn't touch it!!!
