D'Oro Italian Restaurant and Wine Bar Templestowe

Recently popped into D'Oro on a whim with a serious craving for veal and once again, it didn’t disappoint. I was greeted by friendly waitstaff who immediately made me feel welcome. I absolutely fell in love with the "I Don’t Give a Fig" cocktail. It's sweet, delicious and exactly what I needed after work. The veal dish was slightly on the salty side, but ordering the green beans with pangrattato as a side balanced it perfectly and fully satisfied my craving. I’ve also dined here many times with my family (we have several young kids) and it’s always been a pleasure. The staff are consistently accommodating, the portions are generous, everyone leaves full and happy. There’s plenty of space, making it ideal for both intimate meals and larger family gatherings. A wonderful local spot that truly caters to all from solo dining to big family catch-ups. Thank you to the owners and staff for creating such a welcoming restaurant with great food and excellent service. Always happy to return.

We ordered a lobster pasta and their Pizza D’Oro. Taste fantastic themselves; taste okay with their price tag. Regarding the Pizza D’Oro, for the ones that not familiar with the name of cheese, there is blue cheese in the pizza, for the blue cheese fan, I personally find it’s the perfect flavour, not too strong not too light. Just about right. For the one that is not a fan of blue cheese, try to avoid it. 🙂

Amazing Italian surf & turf experience! Beautiful, romantic atmosphere perfect for date night. The steak topped with prawns and scallops was tender and generous, and the lobster squid ink pasta was incredible. Loved the burrata, thin-crust pizza, and refreshing cocktails. Delicious food, great vibes, highly recommend visiting at night!

Such a great spot! Food and drinks were both delightful. Found one of my a favourite pasta dishes here - loaded full of lobster and was nice and garlicky and the pasta was very well cooked! (well worth the $46 price tag) Surf and Turf was also delicious - steak cooked as requested with a delicious creamy sauce and yummy seafood on top. Only thing i would change is to serve the chips on the side so they didn’t get soggy from the sauce. Their drinks are also really good! Got a non alcoholic version of a pina colada (delish) and also a drink called kraken fever which was also very well balanced. Over a great spot and would recommend!

We ate at De Oro tonight and had such a pleasant evening. The food was absolutely delicious, every dish we tried was amazing and full of flavor. The service was equally impressive. The wait staff were friendly and attentive, especially BETH who assisted us from beginning to end with a genuine smile. She took the time to tell us about their special menu for the night. We were so captivated by how enthusiastically she explained everything that we didn’t catch all the details, so we asked if the specials were written anywhere. She said they weren’t, everything was in her mind 🤓. A minute later, she came back with a handwritten list of the specials on a small piece of paper. Such a thoughtful gesture and truly above-and-beyond service. Overall, De Oro delivered amazing food and exceptional hospitality. Highly recommended!

Had an amazing dinner at this Italian restaurant! The bay bug and lobster pasta were incredible, the steak perfectly cooked with flavorful sauces, and the scallops were just right. Even the kids’ pizza was huge and super tasty! The atmosphere is warm and lively, families enjoying gatherings, couples on dates, and everyone made to feel welcome. The staff were friendly and attentive. Perfect spot for a family meal or a cozy Italian night out. Will definitely be back for more!

We had a wonderful lunch experience at D'Oro Restaurant & Wine Bar. The atmosphere is warm, elegant, and perfect for a relaxed midday meal. The service was attentive and friendly, making us feel very welcome. The food quality truly impressed us. We ordered a few of their signature dishes: • Squid Ink Spaghetti with Moreton Bay Bug (Lobster): Absolutely outstanding! The seafood was incredibly fresh, and the pasta sauce was rich and flavorful. Highly recommend this for seafood lovers. • BBQ Pork Ribs: The ribs were cooked to perfection—tender, falling right off the bone, with a delicious, well-balanced BBQ glaze. A must-try if you enjoy meat dishes. • Seafood Risotto: A classic dish done well, packed with prawns and mussels. • Chocolate Brownie: A perfect finish—warm, decadent, and beautifully plated with vanilla ice cream. With their excellent food and beautiful setting, D'Oro is definitely a top choice for Italian dining in the area. We look forward to coming back to try their wine bar selection!
