Hut-Bazaar
Hut-Bazaar in Rockdale is renowned for its authentic Bangladeshi cuisine, particularly the kacchi biriyani and chicken roast, which are praised for their rich and flavorful taste. The establishment offers a pleasant atmosphere that enhances the overall dining experience, making it a recommended spot for those seeking traditional flavors. However, there have been occasional concerns regarding food quality and service consistency, with some reports of expired items and long wait times.
While the restaurant has taken steps to improve, there are still areas that require attention, such as customer service and food safety. The beef curry, in particular, has received criticism for its lack of flavor and texture. Despite these issues, Hut-Bazaar remains a popular choice for its authentic dishes, and with continued efforts, it has the potential to regain its former standards.

easily one of the best places for kacchi biriyani and chicken roast we’ve had in Sydney. The taste was authentic, rich, and full of flavour, exactly what you expect from proper Bangladeshi food. The atmosphere was great and added to the overall experience. Definitely a place we’d go back to.
I have bought a box of sweets from them on 20.01.26 around 0830 pm. I know for a fact that they don't make the sweets, they just sell it. However, it is there responsibility not to sell anything expired. When I bought it, staff from Hut Bazaar put it in plastic bag, hence I only got a chance to see the expiration date when I reach home. The box they gave were expired on 13.01.26. I have called them on 21.01.26; and the lady who received the call was so eager to put it down. Does not even want to hear me out. She just said if I go back, they will give me a refund. It's not about refund but it's about providing safe food and better customer service, which they failed measurable. I have attached photos of sweets box. Please have a look. Sweets have mould. It is not acceptable at all.
Food quality is declining. I even found hair in my meal. Kacchi tastes too much like Indian biryani please review the menu or improve the recipe. After 6–7 years as a regular customer, it’s disappointing to see the standards drop.
Had a kacchi biriyani. Pretty nice and authentic. Definitely recommended.
I had a disappointing experience today. I was fasting and stopped by the shop to get some food. I asked if I could order, and the staff told me to sit down. I waited around 15 minutes, but no one came to take my order or serve any food. Meanwhile, they continued serving customers at the front. I understand places can get busy, but it would have been nice if someone had at least acknowledged me or informed me about the delay. As someone who was very hungry after fasting, this was quite frustrating. I hope the service can improve in the future.
Foods are really expired. I had roast polao once and they made me to wait for half an hour. After that It's tasted like really dead. Happy Ramadan
**Improving — thanks for taking steps! Beef curry!— Absolute rubbish!! I’ve had beef here multiple times, and every time it’s the same disappointing experience — the meat is dry, rough, and completely flavorless. It’s often undercooked on the inside. All you can taste are the spices on the outside, but the actual meat has no flavor at all. I initially thought it might have been a one-off issue, so I gave it another chance. But after repeated visits, it’s clear this is just how they cook. Really disappointing. * The receptionist should adjust his tone of voice. It’s important to communicate respectfully and avoid letting ego come through in conversation
