Heshela Newa Khaja Ghar Rockdale

Very long wait for the pricey set meal with 5 meats, had to repark 1hr street parking on Princes Hwy. But although the meats were all nearly burnt, hard & chewy, & one type of meat was fridge cold, they were pleasant enough to eat (& I felt good, not bloated after the meal plus no hunger for rest of the day & night, so sth is special abt their buffalo, goat, lamb & pork). Their $3 samosa was fantastic, but the takeaway ones I bought after didn't have the same special minty hit I got from the dine in entree one which looked the same. They were a bit too salty too. My kid ordered a Nepalese laksa with buffalo meat, the noodles were a nice thickness & texture but the soup tasted a bit too watery/diluted. My other kid ordered steamed pork dumplings which had a nice herby taste & chicken ones in a curry type sauce, which weren't as tasty as the pork ones. The toilets were clean, the decor cute. Would give a higher rating if the prices of the sets were cheaper & the wait time for ours was no longer than 15 mins vs 35-45 mins.

Incredible food. Wonderfully spicy. The service was amazing. The young girl was very attentive. Could not fault our experience. Highlights- pork skewers and panipuri. The Momo platter was amazing. Spicy with so much flavour.

I recently took my parents and extended family to Heshela Newa Khaja Ghar on a busy, rainy night without a reservation. Despite how packed it was, the staff were incredibly warm and welcoming. They patiently guided us through the menu and helped us put together an amazing feast that my family is still talking about. Every dish was full of flavour and beautifully prepared. As soon as a table became available upstairs, they moved us to a cozy space with such a warm, inviting atmosphere that it made the whole night feel extra special. The service, the food, and the overall experience were outstanding. This place is truly a gem in Rockdale, and I would absolutely recommend it to anyone looking for Nepalese cuisine and heartfelt hospitality.

I ordered momo platter through uber eats I dont think any other momo platter looks like this also the momo were stale i rekon they were from days ago they just microwaved it and sent it. Also the chowmein was very salty. Yomari was good but over all Very bad experience.

We ordered the Nanglo set and the Yomari set for four people, and every dish was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich, well-balanced, and truly authentic, bringing out the real essence of traditional Newari cuisine. Each item in the set was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. The Yomari was perfectly soft with a delicious filling, and the Nanglo set had a great variety that let us enjoy different tastes in one meal. The staff were warm, welcoming, and very attentive, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable. Service was quick and professional, which added to the overall positive experience. Overall, it was a fantastic dining experience and one of the best places in Sydney to enjoy authentic Newari food. Highly recommended for anyone looking to try traditional flavors or relive a taste of home.

Samikshya was serving our food she was very friendly and she gave us a good service. Food is as always good. Me and my partner particularly liked khuwa yomari. I am coming for that again.
