Dreamtime Hostel

I have stayed in 9 hostels in Cairns, and this is the best one. I’ll break it down point by point: 1. In most hostels, there is only one kitchen, so sometimes you have to wait a long time to cook. In this hostel, there are three kitchens — two big ones and one small one. If you’re an introvert, you can use the small kitchen; if you’re a social person, the big kitchens are perfect. 2. The staff keep the kitchen very clean, and every guest must write their name on their food. Otherwise, every Wednesday the staff clean out unnamed food from the fridge. This system keeps the fridge clean and ensures there is always space. 3. There are four bathrooms, and each one has a small hanging chair/shelf to put your belongings, which is very comfortable and convenient. Every bathroom has a mirror, which is very important, especially for women. The bathrooms are also very clean. 4. The maximum capacity in each room is only 4 people, and the room smells fresh. I’m very picky about rooms because I know some hostels don’t care about keeping the rooms smelling clean and fresh. 5. The common areas are also very clean and well maintained 6. Swimming pools not so big but enough to swim for 3-5 people at the same time ☺️ I stay here 2.5weeks & really recommend to stay thereee ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

We had a great time here. The price is okay. Everything was really clean, what is really important to me. The quality of the beds could be a bit better. They matrasses are a bit thin. The owners are handsome. It is quiet at night. The location is great, close to the trainstation (and our dive centre). So in total everything was great! 1 star les for the quality of the beds and maybe and maybe the price can be a little lower 🙂 i should say: go here.

Best hostel out there! The owner Paul and onsite manager Tim are very friendly and accommodating. I even sat out a few nights to have drinks and chat with Tim and a few other guests from the hostel. The rooms were very clean and outdoor space incredibly cozy and tropical feeling. Ive stayed here a few different times now totalling about a month and would stay here again. I have made some great friends at this hostel and have even been allowed to hang around the outdoor spaces after I left. Tour bookings are discounted here as well and staff are great for local recommendations. I felt right at home here and I can't see how anyone could feel any differently.

I enjoyed my stay here; the staff were friendly, and the people who lived there were too. What I didn't like was that they charged for air conditioning. I don't usually use cash, and one night I ran out of coins and had to sleep with the midsummer heat suffocating me. I stayed in four hostels during my time in Cairns, and this was the only one that did that.

Amazing amazing little place! Totally a gem! Definitely recommend staying here! Sooo cute and beautiful and relaxing! Staff are great. Was able to get me a discount on my Great Barrier Reef adventure as well!

Great experience here! Ended up staying for a week and it was so nice. Really great set up, clean, homely, and really comfortable everywhere you sat. Couldn’t recommend it enough. Also a big shoutout to Paul who was a top host!

We (couple) had a great experience in this hostel. Quiet, tidy, very close to the city, friendly staff and great vibes. Thanks Tim for making our stay in Cairns magical.
