FAT CHEF Mernda

First time dining at Fat Chef Mernda although I have heard great reviews about the outlet in Nunawading. We recently moved into the area and thought it would be great to giving the local dining a try to find out what's good and what's not. As Tuesday is their pasta special, I ordered the seafood linguine. Hubby ordered the cheeks and mash and we had a bowl of chips to share. Despite being a pasta special at $19, the portion size was great and the amount of seafood in my pasta was generous in my opinion. The pasta was a little overcooked but the flavours were there. The cheeks and mash was ok. We found the sauce was a little too thick and sweet. I thought the bowl of chips was a little pricey at $14. Afterall it's just chips but these days everything is expensive. They do have share platters in their menu which the diners next table to us ordered and they looked amazing. If you have a big group of people, it may be a great idea to order the platter for sharing. Overall, we were happy with our dining experience. We might go back to try their other weekly specials.

Came in at opening on Monday for the 15$ chicken Parma along side a tall 12$ pot. Greeted by a middle age white bloke really friendly he also served me the food and drinks. All the staff were great but I liked this guys vibe I was the only person there. all the tables were set and food took around 10 minutes Absolutely beautiful! one of the best meals I’ve had recently and I really mean it. Food was scorching hot, salad dressed perfectly and the chips were delicious The meal deals with drink gotta be the best deal in town! atmosphere of the establishment is perfect, sat in a booth quietly by myself while replying to emails. This is my new lunch spot👌

Enjoyed my son's birthday party and ordered the platter for 6. The calamari was great, but everything else was average. Prawns were seved in a gluggy sauce, the sauvlaki was dry, fish too much oil and also dry, salad hadd to much dressing... etc. None the less, the atmosphere was perfect for the occasion and our waitress took care of us as best she could including a candle on desert and her solo happy birthday singing.

We went on a busy night and we still managed to get our mains with a decent wait time. I ordered the pork ribs and it was simply delicious! The meat fell off the bone really easily and the chips that came with it were really crispy! Staff were very friendly and made sure we were happy with everything. Definitely will come here again!

We went for dinner tonight and would highly recommend it. Food was served hot and fresh in a timely manor. We went as a family 2 adults and 2 children (12 &9) We ordered the souvlaki platter for 2 and it was simply delicious and more than enough food! The lamb and chicken was tender, a variety of dips- salad well dressed, ample bread for 4 people and the calamari was delicious! The chips that came with it were really crispy, seasoned well and even had some crunchy ones. The staff were very friendly and very accommodating, and made sure we were happy with everything. 10/10 customer service, 10/10 food! There was nothing that could be faulted! Highly recommend it! And we will definitely be back!!!!

My family and I rock up here with a booking for 9 people, after being seated we waited about half an hour to be asked for drinks, then the waitress enformed us they "have no chicken and meat" For a place that specialises in meat platters we found this so bizarre, eventually who I presume to be the supervisor came up to us and told us she can use different meats and still seafood for the platter, we were fine with this as there isn’t many other options. They brought the platter out with no cutlery and plates so we had to ask for that. Upon finishing our food we asked for the cake, the waiter had to go find it and we didn’t get it for another 30 mins. Mind you this whole time we finished our drinks within the first ten minutes of getting them and weren’t asked for another the whole time we were there. When the cake came, again no plates and cutlery and didn’t ask us for coffee. When we went to pay they charged us full price for the platter that literally has frozen deep fried tenders on it. (Also while we were trying to ask for drinks multiple times we couldn’t find a waiter and later found him at the bar chatting up the other waitress) see picture below

I visited a large restaurant that offers plenty of seating for diners. I ordered the Chicken Parma and beef ribs. The portions were generous for both dishes, which were served alongside a delicious salad and crunchy chips. The beef ribs were particularly impressive, being tender and flavorful. However, the Chicken Parma, while sizable, was somewhat lacking in taste. Overall, I enjoyed my experience and would definitely consider returning to the restaurant.
