The Westbury Dubbo

My wife and I stayed at the Westbury for three nights (it was a present for her on her 70th birthday), and we couldn't have picked a better place. The Westbury has been through some award-winning restoration, and to the credit of the owners, they preserved the old-world charm of the place, while setting up some welcome touches of comfort. Our room was big, and very well-maintained by the lovely Vicki, who did a wonderful job going through the building, making sure every room was spotlessly clean and neat. Virginia, the very friendly owner, made sure we had everything we needed, going to the extent of baking a delicious cake for my wife's birthday! The free continental breakfast was something we looked forward to, because we had a chance to indulge in interesting conversations with other guests, while feasting on delicious granola, apricot jam, mulberry jam, and marmalade, all made by the talented Virginia. We also spent some time each day, sitting in the lovely little courtyard, sipping tea from Virginia's extensive collection of flavours. We would certainly go back to the Westbury some time in the future. Thank you very much, Virginia and Vicki.

Virginia is absolutely delightful, I booked the last room late at night for my traveling husband. The room was beautiful, bed was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was lovely he said. Sour dough bread for toast, how lush. I slept well knowing my husband had a comfortable room to get a decent rest before driving again in the morning. Thank you for providing such a beautiful place to stay overnight.

We felt right at home! This is a comfortable house with very large rooms, and furnished with everything you need and nothing you don't. There are only a few guest rooms, and there is a guest sitting room, outdoor areas, big verandahs and a breakfast room. So you feel like you have the run of the house. It's private, it has a lovely little garden that is visited by small birds and it's well positioned for shops and restaurants. Virginia seemed to have the happy knack of turning up when we needed her, and being invisible when we didn't. We stayed over Christmas for six days, and it was perfect. We were living in our own mansion in the middle of town!

Lovely stay at this beautiful old doctors residence. Within walking distance to the main streets and great restaurants. We dined at the Royal India Restobar, amazing food, service, venue and price. Our room was faultless and the complimentary continental breakfast was very good.

Perfect location in Dubbo. Close to shops, cafe’s RSL Club. Room 3 has its own private balcony which is lovely in the evening with a glass of wine and gets the morning sun to enjoy your coffee. The room was very clean, light and airy with comfortable bed. The bathroom products are quality and smelt beautiful and the hair dryer was a decent brand. The owners and staff are friendly and go out of their way to assist you. I only stayed for one night so I didn’t get to sit outside in the garden areas or sip some Port or read a book in the sitting/parlour area. This will be my go to accommodation for all my future trips to Dubbo for business or pleasure. Note I also paid for the secure off street parking which I would recommend if staying over a weekend night. If not there is plenty of free parking in the street where you can view your vehicle from the many windows from your room. As a solo traveler, this just gave me that extra peace of mind. Thank You

A great place to stay. Beds are comfortable, the rooms are lovely and it is very central to Dubbo CBD. Self serve breakfast is provided and very very adequate! Virginia is lovely and very amenable. Always stay there when I'm in Dubbo!

We loved our stay at the Westbury! The whole house was beautiful and very welcoming. Our "Blue Room" was very generously proportioned, warm on a cold Winter's night and bedding extremely comfortable. The extra touches included a glass of port, gourmet biscuits and chocolates. Breakfast the next morning in the sunroom was more than adequate with the thoughtful provision of gluten free and dairy free options. Location made access to the centre of town and nearby facilities extremely convenient. Would definitely recommend the Westbury to anyone travelling to Dubbo.
