Absolutely amazing experience at The Shire Bar & Grill! 🥩🍷 I ordered the steak, ribs, and pizza — everything was incredibly delicious and cooked to perfection. The mashed potato and sweet potato fries were so comforting, and the steak was exactly what I had been craving for weeks. I was honestly speechless after the first bite — so flavourful and juicy! The atmosphere was cozy and chill, with soft lighting that made it feel warm and relaxing. It’s the kind of place you’d love to unwind at after a long day. They also serve a good range of alcoholic drinks to pair with your meal, which was a nice touch. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a quality meal with a great vibe. I’ll definitely be back! 🌟✨

Overall it was a good experience, but not great, especially for the price we paid. The service was generally good. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the menu has a great range of options which makes it easy to find something for everyone. That said, there were a few let-downs. My husband's steak was unfortunately overcooked, which was disappointing at a steakhouse. The oysters Kilpatrick was missing that classic Worcestershire sauce flavour, so lacked the depth and punch you’d expect from the dish. We ordered the kids burger, which was quite big and came out with the restaurant logo imprinted on the bun. While it might be a fun touch for some, my 3-year-old was instantly turned off by it and the size was just too much for a small child. One thing that didn’t sit well was noticing our waiter watching cricket on his mobile. It didn’t impact us directly, but it didn’t feel particularly professional given the setting and price point. Overall, it was good, but given how much we spent, we were hoping for something a bit more memorable and polished.

Im almost always on my phone , the atmosphere was so good that I wasn't on my phone. Service was awesome, the girl helped me with recommendations , went back to the chef and came back with extra advice. Had a scotch fillet , loved it ! Meat was very nice and tender .

The Shire is many things, but a steakhouse is not one of them. I walked into The Shire expecting greatness after the owner’s hype, but what followed was a slow motion culinary collapse. The welcome was warm, the service prompt, but the 300g rump steak fought back like a wild animal—impossible to cut, impossible to chew, a true test of jaw endurance. The "Greek" salad was straight from a Woolies pre-pack fantasy, and the chat potatoes were two baked lumps wearing whipped air as topping. After watching me battle the steak, the staff took back 90% of it and offered a 25% discount for my suffering. On the way out after paying, I passed the kitchen and was momentarily convinced I’d wandered into a Bangladesh curry house. Suddenly it all clicked. I had ordered a steak in the wrong universe. Here, beef was not honoured, but feared. A holy relic not to be tampered with. A beast too sacred to cook properly. A chat with the owner sealed the experience: apparently ordering rump was my mistake—"a poor man’s cut"—and "Dubbo butchers aren’t worthy of supplying" him beef anyway. By the end I fled before the arrogance became airborne.

Service and atmosphere: Staff were really lovely and our order arrived quickly. The ambience was cozy yet elegant. Wonderful vibes. Food: The food looked nice when it arrived, however it didn't match our expectations. The steaks we ordered were done to our preferences, but were completely under seasoned. The fat in my steak was not rendered down enough, resulting in chewy pieces of fat in your mouth which was very unpleasant (see image). The sides were mediocre and my mash was pretty lumpy. I do think this might've been a one-off thing for the restaurant since other people's steaks looked well seared, but for the price we paid, it was an underwhelming experience.

Good food, good staff. standing in line to pay the bill took a while. Seating bit crammed. Some noisy kids.

Well, we're do i start. Firstly, the waiter, well, what can I say. Artie was absolutely awesome. Manners were unreal, very pleasant. Spoke very nicely and was absolutely fantastic. The food was out of this world. It is highly recommended that you go there. If i were here in Dubbo , I would be back in a heartbeat. Thank you Arkie you have done well.
