Unforgettable Dining Experience at an Iconic Location! Found this absolute hidden gem in Coburg! It is located right inside the historic Pentridge Prison precinct, which has such a cool, modern vibe for a weekend hangout. We ordered a massive spread and everything was next-level: - The Seafood: The Saltwater Pack had perfectly crispy fish and chips. The Prawns and Calamari were incredibly fresh and tender. - The Mains: We loved the Fish Tacos with that zesty chipotle mayo and the Teriyaki Salmon served with healthy brown rice. The Burgers are also a must-try! What impressed me most is how inclusive the menu is. Everything is Halal-certified, and they have plenty of Vegan and Gluten-free options so no one feels left out. The portions are generous and perfect for sharing. Fresh, transparent (you can see the fresh fish on display!) and great service. Jacky Jones is officially my new favorite spot in Melbourne! ⛓️🐟🍟

Plenty of seating both inside and out - it’s a wonderful casual spot for small and large groups. For food we loved the various fish and seafood options the most! Their tacos were also great. The batter was fresh and tasty! 😋 it’s honestly the perfect summer feed ☀️

A true hidden fish and chips shop tucked inside Pentridge Prison!!! The fish was incredibly fresh, with flaky white flesh encased in a light, golden-brown, audibly crispy batter! They absolutely nailed the classic fish & chips. The biggest surprise are the burgers. Highly recommend the Mamma Mia — juicy Aussie beef, fried chicken, and loads of fresh ingredients all packed into one incredibly satisfying bite 🍔🔥 Bonus points for catering to different dietary requirements as well — with gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options available, making it a great spot for groups.

Had a great visit to Jacky Jones Coburg on a Thursday evening. The service was genuinely friendly and welcoming, which set the tone straight away. The fish and chips were a standout - classic, well executed, and really satisfying. The potato scallop and dim sim hit the spot too. We also enjoyed the salt & pepper squid, the chicken burger, and the tacos - all solid and packed with flavour. The sweet potato sides were delicious, and the onion rings were generous and indulgent. Overall, a fun, relaxed local spot with a broad menu that delivers on flavour and comfort. Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the area.
