Sabari Saravanaa Bavan
Sabari Saravana Bhavan in Carrum Downs, Australia, offers a varied menu with notable highlights and some areas for improvement. The mango lassi stands out as a refreshing choice, while dishes like medu vada are reasonably priced.

The quality of ingredients and cooking methods have been noted as inconsistent, suggesting room for enhancement in these areas.

Worst Experience Ever - "Will Never Return". Super disappointed with my visit at Sabari Saravana Bhavan at Carrum Downs. I had one of the worst dining experiences here. I ordered mango lassi, medu vada, garlic naan, tandoori roti and kadai panner. Medu Vada - Decent for the price but the coconut chutney had a funny smell. Garlic Naan - My absolute favourite dish was turned as my nightmare as they just bake the roti in tandoor and apply a garlic paste on top of it. Roti - It was half baked, my husband with no knowledge of cooking knows the difference between cooked and uncooked roti. Kadai Panner - It had so much of black pepper in it that there's was no curry taste but I could only taste the spiciness of black pepper. It was not rich in gravy but a bit thin... Mango Lassi - This was the only thing which didn't have any cons in it. Don't understand what kind of services do they provide. Gave them feedback especially regarding the garlic naan and instead of taking the feedback they were like it's served with garlic sauce in all places here.
One of the worst dining experiences at Sabari Saravana Bhavan. We ordered chicken fried rice and butter chicken, and both were extremely disappointing. The chicken in the fried rice tasted old and was very rubbery. The butter chicken was just as bad — the chicken quality was poor and the taste was unpleasant. Overall, the food was horrible and not up to standard at all. Very dissatisfied with the experience.
Very disappointed .We had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. The food quality was extremely poor. The chicken used in the chicken fried rice and butter chicken masala tasted old and seemed to be reheated or recooked. It was not fresh at all. The service was also very bad. The staff was careless and unresponsive. Additionally, the hygiene standards were shocking. The washroom near the kitchen was very unhygienic, and I even saw cockroaches roaming around. This is completely unacceptable for any restaurant. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Serious improvements in food quality, service, and cleanliness are urgently needed.
Place is huge but nothing flashy. They have the room to expand. The decor is average. The food and generosity is amazing. Especially the weekend buffet. Unbeatable value. Lots of dessert and South Indian food. Don't know any of them but good to try.
Dosa and idly are my all-time favourites, and I’ve found one of the best spots for them in this area! The flavours are so authentic and savoury that you simply won’t forget the taste. I also tried the buffet, and it was not only great value for money but also packed with delicious variety and rich flavours. Truly a place worth visiting!
Extremely disappointed with my experience. I ordered the butter chicken and honestly, it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The dish was basically a bowl of watery sauce with only two small pieces of chicken floating in it. The chicken itself tasted old or possibly expired definitely not fresh. There was no rich, creamy texture or flavour that you’d expect from proper butter chicken. i wish i could give 0 star
I recently went here for their vegetarian buffet and really enjoyed it. There was a good variety of dishes, from starters to mains and desserts. Everything was fresh and full of flavour. I liked that they kept refilling the trays, so the food was always hot. Overall, it was a satisfying buffet experience and definitely worth it if you want to try a bit of everything in one go.
