Angelo Anestis Aquatic Centre (Bexley Aquatic)

Ive been here a few times. The first couple times was amazing. Clean water quality. Clean showers. Good water temperature. However the last two times I've been there, the water quality has declined. Perhaps the leisure centre needs to do more thorough cleaning of the indoor pool during the school holidays when it gets busy. Water quality was so poor that I couldn't see in front of me (in the water) and I saw multiple clumps of hair and paper at the bottom of the pool. How disgusting. Some people even wear shoes into the pool! Multiple lifeguards by the pool and I guess it's not their job to enforce the rules but surely appropriate swim wear should be a priority for overall cleanliness?

I have been coming recently during the warmer weather, lying down on the very large grass area (perfect for tanning). It's my local centre and I'm always greeted by the lovely receptionists who are always smiling. Entry is cheap, being just under ten dollars. The water temperature is just perfect, and the place is usually very clean and well-maintained. I started coming to this pool after my daughter went as part of a school program (telling me how fun it was and how good one of her instructors Nicholas was at helping her). I would highly recommend this modern pool for young families and anyone looking for a nice weekend plan.

This pool is a very busy pool and not the most convenient for swimming laps. Whilst it has great facilities, the indoor 25m swimming pool is used for lessons, leaving one or two lanes available for public use. The 50m outdoor pool and splash pad is booked out from 9am till 2pm-3pm every weekday, followed by squad training from 4pm onwards, with one or two lanes left available for public use. Outside of those hours, both indoor and outdoor pools get incredibly busy.

I want to thank all the staff at the aquatic center for helping me celebrate my daughter’s birthday this week. She loved spending time with her friends in the indoor pool even though the weather was miserable outside. The canteen staff was so helpful in preparing snacks for everyone and the lifeguard staff were so helpful at keeping the kids safe in the pool. I am so grateful to everyone for making the day extra special.

Bexley Aquatic Centre is one of the best local pools around! The place is always clean, the water quality is consistently spot-on, and the staff are super friendly and professional. The Duty Managers and lifeguards genuinely care about safety while keeping the vibe relaxed and welcoming. The facility has a great mix of options indoor and outdoor pools, a solid gym, and family-friendly spaces. Whether you’re there for a serious swim, lessons for the kids, or just to unwind, Bexley Pool nails it every time. Highly recommend it for anyone looking for a well-run, community-focused aquatic center!

Great pool facilities. 50m outdoor pool is heated to 27 degrees and indoor 25m pool is heated to 30 degrees. There are lots of lessons and squads so be sure to check lane availability. Plenty of parking but does get busy in the evening due to all the swim lessons and programs. Friendly staff 🏊

I am very concerned about the ongoing lack of consistency in enforcing entry policies at Bexley Swimming Centre. Julie at the front desk refused entry to my daughter because she is 15, despite the fact that she has been allowed to enter many times previously under the same circumstances. This inconsistency is confusing and unfair to patrons who rely on staff applying the same rules each visit. When I raised this issue, Jessica, the duty manager, was argumentative rather than receptive. She stated she was not aware of previous entries, despite there being numerous public reviews describing the exact same issue. Instead of acknowledging the feedback or attempting to address the inconsistency, she dismissed it and asked me to leave, even though I was raising a legitimate concern. I tried to explain that the policy is not being followed consistently by staff. I even pointed out how easily the rule could be bypassed (for example, paying and entering/exiting separately), which highlights the flaw in enforcement. Jessica said she would check ID, but this never occurred. Overall, this was not about refusing to follow rules, but about providing feedback on inconsistent enforcement and poor customer service. Unfortunately, the feedback was met with argument rather than professionalism or a willingness to improve the issue.
