Initially, I thought I was the only one who had a poor customer service experience. However, after reading other reviews, it’s clear that I am not the only one. There is a particular middle-aged female staff member who is extremely rude. I approached the counter simply to ask a question, but I was brushed off. She seemed to assume that I was cutting the line, even though I was not in the queue. I was standing at a nearby aisle to ask questions once she was done doing billing other customers. The repeated rude looks made me feel uncomfortable, and as a result, I placed the item back and left the store. Because of this experience, I now prefer shopping online rather than dealing with in-store staff. Additionally, staff availability to assist customers is very poor. You wait for a long time for help, and eventually you leave without making a purchase. Not a Happy in-store customer.

My husband and I had a disappointing experience at Spotlight South Morang today. The cashier Gurmit was not friendly from the start. We greeted her when we approached the counter, but she did not respond. When I asked to use my birthday reward, she responded in a condescending manner, saying she can’t see it in the system and that we had to show it on the phone. We were already planning to show it from the phone, as that’s obviously how digital rewards work. The interaction felt unnecessarily dismissive. We also asked to use another promotion, and she seemed very reluctant to apply it. Considering our total bill was over $130, a more cooperative and helpful attitude would have been appreciated. She asked if we needed a bag, and we said yes. However, at the end of the transaction, no bag was provided. We didn’t feel comfortable going back to ask again due to her antagonistic attitude, so we carried all the items to our car by hand. Customer service doesn’t cost anything. A simple smile, basic courtesy, and a cooperative attitude would have made a big difference to our experience. Will definitely avoid this store in the future.

I was on the receiving end of the worst customer service I have ever experienced from Gurmit and Eulalia on the front desk. The point blank stare when I asked a question and then aggressive response followed by the two of them laughing at me together. All while I tried to hold myself together and deal with my over excited 3 year old. They should be absolutely ashamed of themselves. My experience was so bad that I will never return to this store, I’m put off by spotlight completely and if ever ever absolutely have to shop with the company again, I will drive further to Preston to avoid this store.

We had an amazing customers services from Amy yesterday. After another staff brushed past us, waved her hands and said she was busy and that we should "ask Amy" instead. Amy helped my wife and I straight away and was kind and patient. Later on, when we were waiting to make the purchase, another staff spoke rudely and loudly to her for not coming when she called her, despite having been called only generally "anyone to come to the front". Amy handled it all so gracefully, kept smiling and managed the waiting customers promptly and calmly without letting it affect her service. While one staff went above and beyond and was polite, respectful and great, the store should train other staff to treat both customers and their colleagues with respect.

I had a great customer service experience with Yolanda today. Lots of customers were being rude and impatient and she maintained her calm and provided top service. I also seamlessly collected my Click & Collect package.

Asked a staff member on the floor for help and was told, "I can’t help you, I’m putting up signs." That’s a first for me — I’ve never heard that in any shop before. The lady at the counter was a bit more helpful, though she seemed understandably stressed from a busy day. Maybe the store needs more staff on, or better training and values where customer service is actually treated as a priority. There are not many stores I hate walking into but this is one of them, definitely avoid!!!!

My 3 year old toddler was taking photos on her dad's phone while we were trying to get some knowledge on installing curtains in our home. It was the first time she ever took photos on a phone so she was very excited and was taking photos of anything and everything. I was holding my newborn and didn't realise she was taking a photo of one of the staff members named KAREN. Her attitude fit the stereotype perfectly. She said very loudly and aggressively to my 3 year old "CAN YOU NOT... PLEASE!" My child immediately stopped and put her head down holding back her tears and came running to me. There's a way to talk to a child. Especially if you are not the parent. You can not speak to my child in that way. She didn't know shes not allowed to take photos of people. Just because you a miserable middle aged woman doesn't give you the right to put down innocent children. Go spread you negativity elsewhere. Get off your high horse you're not better than us just because you have blonde hair and blue eyes.
